Debuting in 2022 to rave reviews, the show follows a young and accomplished chef who returns home to Chicago to take care of his family's struggling restaurant. Offering a compelling mixture of comedy and drama, The Bear puts the fast-paced world of kitchens on screen and delivers the same breakneck speed as the culinary world. Season 3 Returns In June
The Hollywood strikes of 2023 put a damper on production for most of the year, and The Bear was not immune. However, it was announced that production was scheduled to resume in January 2024, though no indication came that cameras started rolling. Despite no confirmation of physical production, a release window of June 2024 was provided for season 3, before FX finally narrowed it down to June 27, 2024.
The Hollywood strikes consisted of the WGA strike (May-September 2023) and the SAG-AFTRA strike (July-November 2023), which saw writers and actors strike for better pay and fair working conditions.

Carmy & The Rest Of The Crew Will Return
Close
The regular cast of The Bear has been one of the most appealing parts of the series through its first two seasons, and a mass return of the ensemble is to be expected considering the direction that the group is going in during season 2. First and foremost, Jeremy Allen White will be back in the lead role as the troubled but brilliant chef Carmine "Carmy" Berzatto. Additionally, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Richard "Richie" Jerimovich will also return to continue to vex his "cousin" Carmy, along with Ayo Edebiri as Sydney.
The second season was chock-full of cameos, and there's no reason to think that the trend won't continue in the third. Though the nature of his return hasn't been made clear yet, season 2 actor Will Poulter was seen on set, presumably as pastry chef Luca, and his return might indicate that others are also coming back.
Other expected returns include:
Actor The Bear Role Molly Gordon Claire Abby Elliott Natalie "Sugar" Berzatto Lionel Boyce Marcus Liza Colón-Zayas Tina Matty Matheson Neil Fak Jon Bernthal Mikey Berzatto Oliver Platt Uncle Jimmy

The Bear Season 3 Returns The Show Its Roots
Though The Bear season 2 was a critical darling, it moved away from the typical fast-paced kitchen environment that made the first so appealing
While nothing has been announced yet regarding the story, the finale of season 2 gave big hints as to what the upcoming episodes could be about. Although the restaurant successfully opened, Carmy's confession to Claire about him putting his personal life above his professional one while he was trapped in the freezer will have to be addressed in the new season. In fact, star Jeremy Allen White addressed the couple's future, saying "I think she deserves an apology, at the very least".
One thing that is known about the third season is that it will be more of a return to the structure seen in season 1. Though The Bear season 2 was a critical darling, it moved away from the typical fast-paced kitchen environment that made the first so appealing. The Bear season 3 returning to its roots is a promising update since the first season did such an excellent job of balancing its character development with the explosive and pulse-pounding kitchen moments that had fans on the edge of their seats.
