Hades 2: How To Find (& Beat) Scylla and the Sirens (Boss Fight)

Hades 2: How To Find (& Beat) Scylla and the Sirens (Boss Fight)

Scylla and the Sirens is the second boss fight in Hades 2, which caps off the Oceanus zone. The rockstar sirens aren’t quite as mechanically taxing as the previous boss encounter in Erebus, but this fight always has a lot going on. If players enter without prior knowledge, Melinoe can quickly get overwhelmed.

Scylla and the Sirens are a three-piece underwater rock band fighting Hades 2's Melinoe at once but sharing the same health bar. Before entering this fight, it’s best to know each band member’s unique quirks and move sets and which enemy to focus on at different points in the fight. Ultimately, you’ll need to beat the band members individually, but this is much easier said than done. With enough luck and knowledge, you can easily leave this fight with the Pearl and move on to the third region.

How To Bet Scylla And The Sirens

Defeat All 3 Bosses Individually

Close

Scylla and the Sirens are the most dynamic boss fights in Hades 2. This fight can be incredibly chaotic, given that there are three total bosses that you need to keep track of at all times.

This fight is less about distinctive phases and more about understanding the separate band members in this encounter. Although all sirens share a health bar, you can take Roxy and Jetty out of the fight early, which is essential to controlling the battlefield and reducing the chaos around you.

How To Beat Roxy (The Drummer)

Roxy, the drummer of Scylla and the Sirens, is the easiest band member to eliminate first. The siren drummer remains stationary near the back wall of the fight the entire time, which makes it easy to unload damage onto this enemy.

Roxy’s only attacks are red, area-of-effect circles on the ground. Although easy to avoid, it’s easy to lose track of the circles once the fight starts getting more hectic. For the first part of this fight, focus on dodging and dealing as much damage to Roxy as you can.

How To Beat Jetty (The Guitarist)

Jetty is the trickiest part of this fight. The guitarist of Scylla and the Sirens has three total moves: a dash attack, a ground smash, and a confusion beam. Jetty is the second siren that you should focus on taking out. Once Roxy’s AoE attacks have been eliminated, chasing down this boss is much easier.

It’s best to lure Jetty away from Scylla, as the band’s singer has plenty of short-range attacks that can quickly drain Melinoe’s health bar. To best this guitarist, keep your finger drained on the dodge button and be prepared to unload damage while Jetty is charging up attacks.

Jetty’s confusion beam won’t deal damage, but it will slow Melinoe and make you a much easier target for the other two sirens.

How To Beat Scylla (The Singer)

Scylla should be the final band member that you prioritize in this fight. The vocalist only has four relatively short-range attacks: a slow missile, a short-range scream, a barrage of sphere projectiles, and a spinning melee attack. Without the assistance of her other sirens, she is easy enough to take on solo.

It helps to have a strong Cast boon and plenty of magic available for this fight since keeping a distance is vital to avoiding Scylla’s abilities. When her health bar depletes further, she will summon a massive swarm of enemies, but any AoE attack from Melinoe easily deals with this.

Scylla’s damage comes from her front, so be ready to dash in and out immediately. Having a dash attack boon is incredibly useful for this fight.

You cannot attack Scylla from the rear, unlike Headmistress Hecate, Melinoe’s mysterious ally. The massive shell that covers her back prevents any damage from slipping through, making her front the only vulnerable area.

Leaving Scylla last is essential as she will also eventually use the Featured Artist ability. This buff increases the attack speed of a chosen band member. This can complicate the fight significantly on either Roxy or Jetty, but Scylla is the easiest to handle, even with this buff.

Best Boons To Beat Scylla And The Sirens

Ironically, Poseidon’s boons rank among the best to attain before squaring off against Scylla and the Sirens in Hades 2. Attacks such as Wave Strike give your basic attacks extra range, which is necessary for tracking down the fast-moving Jetty and slow but tanky Scylla.

Considering how important dash attacks are in this fight, Breaker Sprint is another excellent option that deals extra damage on hit. Any strong Rare, Epic or Heroic Cast boon is also essential. The sirens can be challenging to track down, and Scylla is dangerous whenever in close range, so Cast abilities from Posedian, Zeus, or Demeter all work well here.

Aside from Boons from the returning and new Gods, the Daedalus Hammer gives essential upgrades to whichever weapon Melinoe wields. Any Daedalus Hammer upgrades that increase range to double attack bonuses are extremely favorable during this fight.

Against the sirens, you need to be able to deal large spurts of damage before quickly disengaging. Any weapon upgrades that facilitate this playstyle will put you ahead early.

Best Weapon To Beat Scylla And The Sirens

The Most Effective Weapon

The best weapon to beat Scylla and The Sirens is the Witch's Staff. Although basic, this staff has the best range and upgrades to handle the sirens easily. Fighting three bosses at once, with Jetty being extremely mobile, means you must work range to your advantage. The Witch's Staff quickly becomes the best tool when paired with either the Rapid Moonfire or Double Moonshot Daedalus Hammer upgrades.

Weapon choice entirely depends on your preferred playstyle. Although avoiding Sister Blades and Moonstone Axe is recommended, these certainly work if these are the weapons you feel most comfortable using.

If you are using closer-range weapons, such as the Sister Blades, offset your disadvantage with a useful Keepsake, such as the Knucklebones Keepsake from Odysseus. No matter your choice of weapon, studying this fight and entering prepared is the best way to beat any boss in Hades 2,
