10 Furiosa
Played By Alyla Browne & Anya Taylor-Joy
Close
The most obvious returning character from Mad Max: Fury Road in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is the titular protagonist herself, Furiosa. When she was last seen in Mad Max: Fury Road, Furiosa started out as an Imperator in Immortan Joe's War Boys army, although she abandoned the Citadel in an attempt to save Joe's Five Wives. This plan eventually led to the death of Immortan Joe, with this shift in the balance of power coming at the hands of Furiosa.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga greatly expands on Furiosa's story, adding much more context to Mad Max: Fury Road. The prequel film follows Furiosa from her early childhood in the Green Place all the way to the point where she makes the decision to rescue Joe's Five Wives. Although Furiosa was previously played by Charlize Theron, Furiosa was recast as Anya Taylor-Joy in the prequel, giving a new look at the character.

9 Immortan Joe
Played By Lachy Hulme
Close
Another iconic Mad Max: Fury Road character who appears in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is the terrifying ruler of the Citadel, Immortan Joe. In Mad Max: Fury Road, Immortan Joe is the authoritarian leader of the Citadel, with him ruling over the stronghold with an iron fist. However, Immortan Joe and his War Boys head out to track down Furiosa and Max after they run off with his Five Wives, a decision that would eventually lead to Joe's death.
Immortan Joe is still evil in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, but he isn't the film's antagonist, with that role being filled by Dr. Dementus. Instead, the movie heavily focuses on the politics of Joe's interactions with Gas Town and the Bullet Farm, with Furiosa fighting on his side for much of the film. Although Immortan Joe was played by Hugh Keays-Byrne, he sadly passed away, causing Lachy Hulme to take over the role in the prequel.
8 The People Eater
Played By John Howard
The People Eater also reappears in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, with him filling a similar role as he does in Mad Max: Fury Road. In the film, the People Eater is one of Immortan Joe's advisors, with him joining the forces of the Citadel in their attempt to chase down Furiosa and Mad Max. Although the People Eater causes Furiosa's team to have some devastating losses, he is eventually shot and killed by the end of the film.
The People Eater is given even more screentime in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, with the film especially focusing on his hand in the politics of the Citadel. The People Eater is almost always seen alongside Immortan Joe, advising him how to handle the conflicts with the Bullet Farmer and Dr. Dementus. The People Eater is played by John Howard in both films, with him returning to reprise his role in the prequel movie.
7 Organic Mechanic
Played By Angus Sampson
Close
The Organic Mechanic is a member of the Citadel in Mad Max: Fury Road, with him reappearing in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. In his first appearance, he is portrayed as the head medic in the Citadel, with him having all kinds of knowledge on things like diseases and births. The Organic Mechanic is called in to deliver the children of Immortan Joe's wives, with him proclaiming if they are viable to live or not upon their births.
Although it had already been hinted at in other Mad Max media, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga gives the character a lot more context. As it turns out, the Organic Mechanic was a member of Dementus' squad, but he was sold to Immortan Joe alongside Furiosa during a bartering session between Dementus and Joe. Angus Sampson plays the Organic Mechanic in both appearances of the character.
6 Rictus Erectus
Played By Nathan Jones
Rictus Erectus is the son of Immortan Joe in Mad Max: Fury Road and one of the villains' right-hand men, with him always hoping to prove his worth to his father. Despite his violence and incredible strength, Immortan Joe doesn't believe that Rictus Erectus or his brother is well-suited to run the Citadel after his death, causing Joe to start the forced breeding program with his wives.
Rictus Erectus returns in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, with several scenes between him and Furiosa being shown during her time at the Citadel. Rictus Erectus' obsession with Furiosa's hair is what allows her to initially escape capture, leading to the events of the prequel and the rest of the Mad Max franchise. Actor Nathan Jones plays Rictus Erectus in both films, reprising his role for the prequel.

Another major batch of characters that reappears in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is Immortan Joe's breeder Five Wives, with them having first appeared in Mad Max: Fury Road. In their first appearance, the Five Wives were the crux of the story, with Immortan Joe and the rest of the Citadel's forces chasing Furiosa and Mad Max down in order to reclaim the women.
The Five Wives return in the final moments of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, with the prequel ending with Furiosa's decision to sneak Immortan Joe's Five Wives out of the Citadel and into the vehicle that they use throughout Mad Max: Fury Road. A variety of wives are shown throughout the film due to it covering a broad timeline, but the five from the end of the film are the same five wives from Mad Max: Fury Road.
4 Doof Warrior
Played By iOTA
Another fighter from the Citadel who reappears in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is the Doof Warrior, with him being one of the most iconic parts of Mad Max: Fury Road. Although the Doof Warrior isn't much of a character in the film, he is one of the most visually stunning aspects of Mad Max: Fury Road, with the red-clad warrior playing a flame-throwing guitar atop a moving vehicle in the movie.
The Doof Warrior is seen again in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, once again playing his iconic flame-throwing guitar. Much like his appearance in Mad Max: Fury Road, the Doof Warrior doesn't have much of a role in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga's story, but it is nice to see the prequel reference one of the most popular parts of the 2015 film. Doof Warrior is once again played the the musician iOTA.
3 Bullet Farmer
Played By Richard Carter
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga gives a lot of focus to two of the Wasteland's warlords, with those being Immortan Joe and Dr. Dementus. However, the Wasteland's third warlord also appears in the prequel film as well as Mad Max: Fury Road: the Bullet Farmer. In the franchise, the Bullet Farmer is the leader of the Bullet Farm, with him seeing over the production of ammunition and other types of weaponry in the Wasteland.
In Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, the Bullet Farmer is seen traveling to the Citadel bearing terrible news. As it turns out, Dr. Dementus' gang has overtaken the Bulelt Farm, with Dementus next setting his sights on the Citadel. Immortan Joe and the Bullet Farmer work together to take down Dementus' forces, although Furiosa is the one to get the final kill. In both films, the Bullet Farmer is portrayed by Richard Carter.

2 Valkyrie
Played By Dylan Adonis
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga also features a small cameo from another protagonist, setting up the events of Mad Max: Fury Road. In the 2015 movie, Valkyrie is a member of the Vuvalini, or the Many Mothers, with her being a friend of Furiosa. Valkyrie meets Furiosa on the Fury Road and attempts to help save the Five Wives, although she eventually falls in battle.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga opens with Furiosa as a child in the Green Place, and she can be seen trying to get a fruit alongside her friend Valkyrie. However, the soldiers from Dementus' gang steal Furiosa, meaning that the duo doesn't see each other again until the events of Mad Max: Fury Road. Although she is played by Megan Gale in the 2015 film, the young version of the character in the prequel is played by Dylan Adonis.
1 Mad Max
Played By Jacob Tomuri
Close
While many of the other beloved Mad Max characters make exciting cameos in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, none of them are as exciting as the titular protagonist himself, Mad Max Rockatansky. Max is the protagonist of each of the mainline films in the Mad Max saga, with him being played by Mel Gibson in the first three movies before the role was taken over by Tom Hardy in Mad Max: Fury Road.
Max has a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, with his appearance not having attention called to it. Max can be seen on a ledge noticing Furiosa collapsing in the desert from a distance, setting up the events of the 2015 film. Although Tom Hardy doesn't return, Mad Max is played by Tom Hardy's regular stunt double Jacob Tomuri in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, making this exciting cameo appearance possible.
