10 Strongest Men In Naruto History, Ranked

10 Strongest Men In Naruto History, Ranked

Naruto is one of the most beloved anime franchises around, featuring a gripping story, jaw-dropping fights, and some of the strongest men in anime. Characters in Naruto can use a variety of ninja tools, jutsu, and even hand-to-hand combat to get the job done. The strongest combine all three, turning themselves into walking one-man-armies. One of Naruto's strengths as a series is the power balance between good and evil. When characters like Madara Uchiha step onto the battlefield, the good guys' victory is anything but assured.

The strongest men in Naruto are diverse in their power, abilities, and goals. Some of them, like Sasuke, have spent their lives fighting for themselves before finding a better cause. Others, like Naruto, have been focused on their friends and their village their whole lives. No matter what these characters have been fighting for, it's led them to become the strongest men in the series.

10 Itachi Uchiha

The Slayer of the Entire Uchiha Clan

Close

Itachi Uchiha is one of the most tragic characters in anime. He was asked to slay his entire clan to prevent a potential uprising against the village. After he slayed the Uchiha, he couldn't remain in the Hidden Leaf, so he was branded as an exile. Itachi's ability to annihilate his entire clan, bar Sasuke, nearly single-handedly is a testament to his strength. He's one of the youngest Uchiha in the series to get the powerful Mangekyou Sharingan and one of the smartest to use it as well.

Itachi's main abilites come from his Genjutsu. If he makes eye contact with his opponent, the fight is as good as done. His Mangekyou Sharingan gives him two of the strongest abilites in Naruto in Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi. Amaterasu is a black flame that can't be extinguished, allowing Itachi to burn anything he looks at. Tsukuyomi might be the most powerful Genjutsu ability in Naruto as well as Itachi can trap his opponents in an infinite time loop they can never escape. It feels like seconds for Itachi, but for his opponents caught in the illusion, it can feel like an eternity.

9 Pain

The Leader of the Infamous Akatsuki

Close

Pain is another character with a brutal backstory, and be becomes one of the best villains in Naruto because of it. Before he died, he was Yahiko, a student of Jiraiya and friend to Konan and Nagato. After Yahiko was killed, Nagato used his body as a vessel for his Rinnegan abilities. Pain is six different bodies in total, each using a specific path of the Rinnegan. One path is a robot, with a mechanical body that can transform. Another is a form that can absorb all chakra thrown its way. The strongest of all the forms, however, is the form that uses Yahiko's body, the Deva Path.

The Deva Path Pain can use powers of attraction and repulsion, able to push and pull just about anything in his path. Pain's able to level Konoha in one of the most devastating events in anime using his abilities. When the Deva Path was fighting Naruto, he got the Jinchuuriki up to his six-tailed beast state, further into his anger than Naruto had ever gone.

8 Minato Namikaze

The Fourth Hokage and the Yellow Flash

Close

Minato Namikaze is one of the coolest characters in anime. He's strong, smart, and incredibly fast. He's a great dad who laid down his life for Naruto and was even able to infuse his chakra into his son so that he could eventually meet him. He's not the Fourth Hokage for long, but it's easy to see why he was chosen for the position. In the Third Great Ninja War, he's a force to be reckoned with when he meets the future Raikage on the battlefield. If it wasn't for the future Raikage and the eight-tails Jinchuurki, Minato would've destroyed the Hidden Cloud ninjas.

Minato's strongest abilities come with his kunai. He's able to teleport to any kunai with his seal on them across the battlefield, allowing him to use the Flying Thunder God technique to appear where his enemies least expect him.

7 Tobirama Senju

The Second Hokage Is a Genius

Close

The Second Hokage is one of the smartest characters in Naruto, alongside Minato and Itachi. Tobirama came up with a lot of Naruto's strongest techniques and jutsus that are still being used by modern day ninja, including the Flying Thunder God technique. During his lifetime, Tobirama was distrustful of the Uchiha clan and didn't want to unite with them to create the Hidden Leaf Village. His brother Hashirama convinced him otherwise, and the two clans were able to finally put their differences aside.

6 Ashura and Indra Otsutsuki

The Children of the Sage of Six of Paths

Close

Indra and Ashura Otsutsuki were born with a lot in their favor. Their father is Hagoromo Otsutsuki, their uncle is Hamura Otsutsuki, and their grandmother is Kaguya Otsutsuki, three of the strongest characters in Naruto. Individually, both Indra and Ashura brought a lot to the series. Ashura is the progenitor of both the Senju and the Uzumaki clans, while his brother Indra created Ninjutsu itself and started the Uchiha clan. As the founder of the Uchiha clan, Indra has the first Sharingan in the series as well.

Related My Favorite Naruto Character Shows Why Its Power System Has Always Been Broken Rock Lee is one of Naruto's most beloved characters for his optimism, perseverance, and friendly demeanor, but he shows a more insidious problem.

While Indra lost to Ashura in battle, their power level is fairly equal. They both created a ton of the best jutsus in the series and are pivotal to the story as a whole. Indra had one of the first Mangekyou Sharingans and used an early Susanoo as well. Ashura created the closest thing to a Rasengan with his power, using it to defeat his brother once and for all.

5 Hashirama Senju

The God of Shinobi and the First Hokage

Close

Hashirama Senju was the first Hokage and the Senju strong enough to finally land a truce with the Uchiha. His Wood Release technique is one of the strongest in Naruto, giving him both top-tier offensive and defensive abilities. He's so strong, Madara used Hashirama's cells to keep himself alive and to try and steal some of his techniques. He's a well-rounded character who excels in every area.

On the battlefield, there aren't many who can do it like Hashirama. He uses his Wood Release technique to create some of the biggest jutsus in the series, taking on the mighty Susanoo one-on-one. He can also enter Sage Mode in an instant, one of the strongest power-ups in Naruto that only a handful of characters can step into. Hashirama can create wood dragons to send after his opponents, and can even create a wooden statue with thousands of arms he can control at once.

4 Sasuke Uchiha

The Supporting Kage Behind the Scenes

Close

Sasuke Uchiha is one of the best rivals in anime. He's a rogue who does what he wants when he wants, but that doesn't mean he can't be a good guy. Sasuke starts the series confused by his brother's actions, and when he learns the truth, he's able to finally forge his own path and leave the past behind him. He's spent his life fighting some of the strongest characters Naruto has to offer, and he's used some of the coolest abilities while doing so.

As an Uchiha, Sasuke uses his Sharingan to devastating effect. He also has access to the Mangekyou Sharingan, allowing him to use both the Amatarasu and Susanoo abilities all great Uchiha have. One of Sasuke's textbook techniques is the Chidori, where he concentrates his lightning chakra into a ball that can pierce almost anything. Sasuke is a tenacious character who can never be considered truly out of a fight.

3 Naruto Uzumaki

The 7th and Strongest of All Hokage

Close

Naruto's story is one of the most satisfying to watch. He starts the series as an orphan acting out to get attention, never seen as more than a nuisance by his friends and neighbors. Eventually, he becomes the hero of the village, saving everyone on multiple occasions. He begins Naruto defacing the statues of the Hokage in the Hidden Leaf before adding his face to the lineup. He's a great Hokage who cares about his village and works hard to defend it.

As a ninja, there aren't many who can stand toe-to-toe with Naruto. He's the nine-tails Jinchuuriki and has a ton of insane powers to back himself up. He's a master of Shadow Clone jutsu and can use it to recreate himself and his powerful Rasengan. He can also enter Sage Mode like it's nothing, and tap into his tailed beast chakra to send devastating attacks at his opponents. While he might be a bit of an airhead off the battlefield, he's a decent strategist on it.

2 Madara Uchiha

A Walking One-Man Army

Close

Madara Uchiha is a scary villain. He's a walking one-man army who was more than happy to take on the entire Shinobi Alliance by himself. He's an expert at taijutsu, genjutsu, and just about every other form of combat in the series. His revival is enough to make the Shinobi Alliance reconsider their entire action plan in the final episodes of Naruto. If it wasn't for his betrayal at the hands of Black Zetsu, who knows how the strongest Uchiha in Naruto would have been stopped.

Madara's genjutsu can kill an opponent with a single gaze. He can also use his Sharingan to see a few steps ahead of every situation, allowing him to fight like he can see the future. He eventually acquires the strongest Dojutsu in the series in the Rinnegan, allowing him to use the attraction and repulsion powers Pain showed off earlier in the series.

1 Hagoromo and Hamura Otsutsuki

The Children of the Progenitor of Chakra

Close

Hagoromo and Hamura Otsutsuki are easily the strongest men in Naruto. They're so strong, they predate Ninjutsu itself. They're the children of Kaguya Otsutsuki, arguably the strongest overall character in the series and the creator of Chakra. Hagoromo is admittedly a little stronger than his younger brother, but they're both in their own league compared to other characters in the series. Hagoromo and Hamura were the first to unlock the Sharingan, the Mangekyou Sharingan, the Byakugan, the Rinnegan, and the Tenseigan, all of the strongest Dojutsus in Naruto.

Together, they were able to seal the Ten-Tails and defeat their mother, Kaguya. They were both able to use Six-Path Senjutsu and used all five of the main Nature Releases. Even after their deaths, they were both able to manifest their chakras into their descendants so they could influence future events one more time.
