Suspicious Soldier Location

Finding the suspicious soldier crutches on several hints, you'll get from the guards in the Castle Town. While you're free to ask around, just a few will give you helpful information to pinpoint the impersonator. QuickTips on YouTube has led the way to each helpful soldier, starting with the guard on the town's western wall.

While searching for the suspicious soldier, you'll stumble upon one of many Pieces of Heart locations in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Head for the Castle's north wall; you'll find it on the other side.

The guard here will suggest you head to the barracks to see if the equipment is unaccounted for. Make your way to the building with a blue roof, and ask the soldier about missing equipment. This will trigger a short cutscene, during which you'll learn that one soldier in town has been using damaged equipment.

Fortunately, the soldier in question isn't too far out of the way. When you head out, look for the soldier just outside the Barracks, and you'll notice that his lance is missing its tip. With that, you'll have collected all the information you need. Head back inside the Barracks and speak with Beecher to relay your findings. You'll need to provide the correct answers to his questions here, so take a look at the table below to choose your responses:

Question Correct Response "Princess Zelda, did you see a soldier with damaged equipment?" "I sure did." "Where did you see the suspicious soldier?" "Near the well." "And which piece of equipment was damaged?" "The lance."

Another cutscene will play when you've answered each of Beecher's questions. The suspicious soldier wasn't all that suspicious; he admired Hyrule's soldiers so much that he took it upon himself to become one. Delighted by this, General Wright aims to speak with the King about welcoming Capnut to their ranks.

This will close out the "One Soldier Too Many" side quest in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, rewarding you with one of the Zelda entry's Golden Eggs. These items can be used in Golden Smoothie Recipes for maximum health recovery as you take on the game's dungeons.
