When Is Stardew Valley 1.6 Coming To Consoles & Mobile? Release Dates Explained

Stardew Valley's giant 1.6 update finally has a set release date for console and mobile players. The latest update released earlier this year for PC, and was one of the largest content drops for the game. Other platforms had to wait because developer ConcernedApe wanted 1.6 to work with as few errors as possible once released on platforms other than PC.

Stardew Valley's 1.6 update was a huge content drop, introducing four new festivals/events, one in the desert, two for fishing, and one for the summer. A new farm layout was also added in the Meadowlands, going on to become one of the best-ranked farm maps, especially for those focusing on animal products. Possibly the largest change was the introduction of a mastery system. This system was leveled up by doing the core parts of Stardew Valley and would unlock new specialized perks at set levels.

Update 1.6 of Stardew Valley will come to consoles on November 4, 2024. ConcernedApe has also said that players will not need to restart to experience some of the new content. However, for the full new experience, a new farm for Stardew Valley 1.6 is recommended. It should also be noted that crossplay is not supported, so players will still be limited to their platforms for multiplayer.

All console players will be able to play 1.6 from this date, including those with a Nintendo Switch. For Stardew Valley players, console updates have historically been a little slower to release, and at the time of writing, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch versions of Stardew Valley are running version 1.5.1, versus PC's 1.6.1.

Luckily, the mobile version of 1.6 will also be released on November 4, 2024. Though the mobile version isn't as high-spec as other platforms, it won't come with any content restrictions. In general, Stardew Valley is not a demanding game from a technical or graphical aspect, which allows it to be released on mobile devices more easily than other games would be able to. The same rules for restarting to have a full new experience will also apply on mobile.

Though it may have taken a bit, it is a gift that Stardew Valley 1.6 will launch on other platforms and hopefully run as smoothly as possible. In case there are some problems, ConcernedApe usually works fast on patching issues. This, combined with the well-received 1.6 update, should bring refreshed excitement to the farming game. All of this will come to fruition on November 4, when Stardew Valley 1.6 launches on console and mobile platforms.
