Persona 5 Royal: How To Find & Defeat The Reaper (The Easy Way)
The Reaper is one of the deadliest foes the Phantom Thieves can face in Persona 5 Royal. He appears only within Momentos, and unlike the other enemies down there, the Reaper is extremely difficult to beat and will not be scaled to your level, regardless of when you run into him, so it's best to avoid him entirely until you're prepared to face him.
Luckily, it's rather easy to avoid the Reaper until you're ready to face him, as he only appears if you're hanging around one of the floors of Momentos for too long. You'll be able to hear the sound of his chains coming towards you when he spawns, and one of your team members will warn you he's coming, so this is the ideal time to run to another floor. If this is not a fight, you can win.

How To Spawn & Beat The Reaper In Persona 5 Royal
Come Prepared, Buff Your Party Members, & Weaken The Enemy
In Persona 5, the best time to attempt to face the Reaper was during Flu Season, as the enemies would be weaker during that time. This would allow the Reaper to be defeated within three turns, but unfortunately, Persona 5 Royal changed many things from P5, including this. It's recommended that you don't intentionally seek out the Reaper until you and your party members are around level 60 at least to stand a chance, but preferably closer to level 75 for a real chance.
Additionally, players should ensure that they're heading in with a well-balanced but powerful party that is not only strong but capable of healing and offering buffs and debuffs. Each party member should have their confidant unlocked and maxed out to ensure that Joker receives the maximum benefits they offer in battle. The key to winning this fight is buffing your team with defenses, increased power, and debuffing the Reaper's defense and attack.

When you're ready to face him, you only need to wait for him to spawn by hanging around on one floor, as seen in the above video by Faz. Listen out for the chains to mark his arrival on your floor, but do not ambush him. When ambushed, the Reaper can take turns every round, but if you allow him to ambush you, he will only have one turn every round. This is perhaps one of the most essential aspects of winning this fight.
Some key things available in your party include Divine Pillar, Firm Stance, Heat Riser, Debilitate, Mediarahan, and Samarecarm. Additionally, as Joker is expected to be the primary damage dealer, it's best to focus the attack buffs solely on him.
When the battle begins, cast Makarakarn or Tetrakarn, as these moves trap the Reaper in a cycle of using Concentrate followed by Megidolaon. The main objective is to chip down the Reaper's health when charging an attack and use the healer's best abilities when a party member gets knocked down. Also, it's not in the analysis, but the Reaper will take reduced damage from everything but Almighty damage, so it's recommended you bring Akechi, along with your own powerful Persona that's equipped for the job, preferably with minimal weaknesses.
It may take some time, especially if you're working with a lack of DLC Personas; in this case, you can cheese this fight with Izanagi-no-Okami and Myriad Truths. Still, eventually, you'll be able to wear down the Reaper and finish him off. The key is not to do anything too risky and keep your defenses up. Once defeated, you will be rewarded with the "A Unique Rebel" trophy and gain significant experience for your entire Persona 5 Royal party.
