Police investigate death of teenager, 18

A police investigation is under way after a 'beautiful' teenager was found dead at a house in North Wales.

Jade Mitchell, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene, after North Wales Police and the Welsh Ambulance Service were called to a home in the port town of Holyhead, Anglesey, at around 6am on Friday to reports of an 'unresponsive teenager'.

A police investigation is now under way into Ms Mitchell's death and officers are keen to track down the 18-year-old's last known moments.

North Wales Police have also confirmed a woman was arrested on Monday on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs.

Detective Sergeant Arwel Hughes said: 'Following the tragic death of Jade, a police investigation was commenced. As such we are keen to trace Jade's last known movements.

'I would be grateful if anyone who saw or communicated with Jade on Thursday the 18th of June 2020 or early into Friday morning the 19th of June 2020 could contact North Wales Police.

'Following enquiries, on Monday the 22nd of June, a local woman was arrested on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs.

'Our thoughts remain with Jade's family and friends at this tragic time.'

Ms Mitchell, who was originally from Fleetwood, Lancashire, had moved to Wales within the last two years.

Following her death, friend Aiofe Ward said: 'RIP Jade, I honestly don't have no words I'm speechless. I wish I had the chance to say a thank you for everything you ever did for me. You helped me through so much.

'You will never be forgotten, I will miss you lots.'

While Grace Jones said: 'If I knew this would of been the last time I would see you I wouldn't of let u (sic) leave my arms.

'In your company I was the happiest now I feel so empty inside.'

Aunt Sheryl Jones described Ms Mitchell as 'my beautiful niece' as she tried to raise money for her funeral costs.

She wrote: 'My beautiful niece has tragically passed away, aged 18.

'At this horrendous time, I am trying to help her family have one less thing to worry about.

'Funerals are so expensive, but if everyone gives a little, it soon mounts up. All donations will go towards the cost of the funeral.'
