Maharashtra again reported the highest number of new infections at 7,827, its third-highest single-day addition.

The state’s active caseload breached the one-lakh mark, with 1,03,516 patients now under treatment. Overall cases for the state also crossed the 2.5 lakh mark to reach2,54,427. The state though reported a dip in Covid-19 deaths with 173 in the last 24 hours, lowest in the last one week during which it was reporting over 200 deaths daily. And the state’s case fatality rate, which hovered between 4.5% and 4.7% for most of last month, has declined to 4%.
