11 Tips for Second-Hand Shopping Online

I’ll admit it: There are very few things I miss more than being able to enter my favorite local secondhand shop and dig for hidden gems. But while continuing social distancing is of the utmost priority right now, that doesn’t mean the thrifting has to stop. In fact, in its 2020 resale report, the popular secondhand shopping app ThreadUp revealed that the online secondhand market is projected to grow 69% from 2019 to 2021.Â

Given the current state of the world, it comes as no surprise that used clothing is booming. Not only has the already unstable retail market been upended by the pandemic, but also more people have been cleaning out their closets and reassessing how their consumption impacts the environment.

For editors such as myself, secondhand shopping has been a long-time passion, however, I understand that not everyone knows how to efficiently thrift, much less online. So now seemed like the perfect time to tap three vintage experts to demystify digital secondhand shopping.
