Players in the Northern Hemisphere will be able to find it from May through September, while players in the Southern Hemisphere will find it from November through March. Note that it does not have any specific time of day associated with it, so feel free to search the sea during both morning and night for a chance at finding it.

When diving, players will start to recognize it by its huge shadow and long lunges when it moves. It is the largest of the deep-sea creatures, making it somewhat easier to spot than the others. However, it can sometimes be mistaken for other creatures with large shadows and quick movements, such as the Snow Crab. When you think you've spotted it, you will want to pursue it as quickly as possible so you don't lose it.
