Tributes are paid to 'kind and caring' girl, 16, after she was killed by a train

Friends have paid tribute to a 'kind and caring' 16-year-old girl after she was hit and killed by a train in Kent.

Jasmine Morris was struck by a train travelling between Bromley and Sole Street near Swanley at around 6am yesterday.

British Transport Police arrived at Sole Street Station with paramedics and found her body on the tracks

Officers said they were not treating the incident as suspicious and would pass it on to the coroner, reported Kent Live.

Today friends took to social media to pay tribute to Jasmine, who one called 'the loveliest and most stunning girl I ever met'.

Jessica Ellis wrote on Facebook: 'Rest in peace Jasmine Morris. You was an amazing girl, inside and out.

'Always so kind throughout primary, and all of secondary. We all love you and miss you.'

Elle Day wrote: 'Rest in peace to the loveliest and most stunning girl I ever met. Jasmine you truly had a heart of gold and I can't believe what's happened.

'And in a world where you can be anything, everyone please be kind as you never know what's going on behind closed doors. Rest in peace baby girl and see you on the other side. Fly high.'

Southeastern shut the train line for around two hours before it reopened shortly after 8am.

British Transport Police said: 'Officers were called to Swanley station shortly after 6am this morning following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

'Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

'The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.'
