Alexx O’Nell’s ‘A Bhagavad Gita Song’ provides healing touch
Actor-musician Alexx O’Nell succeeded in impressing the audience with his portrayal of Bob Wilson in the Hindi web-series ‘Aarya,’ which released earlier this year. One of the highlights of his character was his passion towards singing verses from the Holy book the Bhagavad Gita.
O’Nell has now come up with a single where he has recited few Sanskrit shlokas from chapter 2, verses 38, 33, 19 and 20 in a song form.
For the uninitiated, Lord Krishna recited the Gita to Arjuna just before the great war of Kurukshetra in Mahabharata. As soon as Arjuna entered the battlefield, he became emotional and mentally weak to master the courage to fight against his own family, friends and gurus.
Hence, Krishna enlightened Arjuna to not refuse the call of duty even if it meant fighting against your own. Through these shlokas, Krishna tells Arjun that carrying out one’s duty doesn’t incur sin. On the other hand, it is certainly sinful if he refuses to fulfill his duty.
O’Nell’s recitation is soulful and soothing. It touches you deeply and provides a healing touch. Despite him being born in America, he succeeds in pronouncing difficult Sanskrit shlokas. The same goes for his co-singer Delraaz Bunshah.
In the description of the video on YouTube, O’Nell has spoken in detail about how he first encountered the Gita because of the show ‘Aarya’ and his character in it.
