Taxi speeds down Yorkshire street with man clinging to bonnet

This is the shocking moment a taxi hurtles down a road with a terrified man clinging to its bonnet in West Yorkshire.

Footage filmed by a witness in Thornhill Lees, Dewsbury, shows the man cling on to the front of the vehicle as the taxi driver, who was parked between an MOT testing station and tuition centre, speeds through the street and passes a parked police car.

Moments later, the man, who desperately holds onto the car for around 100 yards, falls to the ground as an angry crowd descends onto the street.

The incident is believed to have taken place last night before footage was shared today on social media.

During the clip, a group of men cluster around a taxi that is parked between an MOT testing station and a tuition centre and appear to shout at the driver.

A man in a white shirt approaches the front of the vehicle and slams his hands down on the bonnet as the driver pulls away from the curb.

The taxi speeds down the street, passing a parked police car as the petrified man clings to the front.

As the taxi gathers momentum, the man is pushed backwards and falls to the ground.

The driver then zooms past and reveals the man on the ground.

The incident took place on Savile Road in Thornhill Lees, Dewsbury, West Yorkshire

As the taxi leaves the scene, the man in white can be seen getting up and a group of onlookers pursue the taxi down the street as it disappears from sight.

The shocking footage was shared to a community group on Facebook by local Nisbah Hussain who asked: 'Does anyone know what happened?'
