Through the Im-perfect jewelry collection, Studio Ching-Hui Yang aims to challenge societal norms and the negative sense of self-perception these contexts can motivate. The capsule consists of visually striking sculptural necklaces and bracelets. The pieces are specifically geared to respond to "social attitudes about personal appearance and disability" that can have an Othering effect on individuals.

The jewelry are focused "specifically on the process of psychosocial adjustment a person experiences following a life-changing injury or illness disability." Each of the five pieces corresponds to one of the stages of grief associated with it—denial, anger, bargain, depression, and shame.

Understandably, Studio Ching-Hui Yang looks to challenge societal norms to be more accepting and understanding of such processes. Its ultimate goal is stated as aiming to "change the way that people perceive disability, encourage empathy, and embrace diversity."
