A stand-up comedian and actor who starred in the long-running sitcoms The Bob Newhart Show and Newhart, Newhart is the recipient of the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in addition to other accolades including an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Bob Newhart has died at the age of 94. According to his publicist Jerry Digney, he died on July 18, 2023, after multiple brief illnesses. He is predeceased by his wife Virginia Quinn, to whom he was married from 1963 until her death in 2023.
