Fast & Furious: What Happened To Suki After 2 Fast 2 Furious

Fast & Furious: What Happened To Suki After 2 Fast 2 Furious

Summary Suki hasn't returned since 2 Fast 2 Furious, and her fate remains unknown.

Devon Aoki retired from full-time acting in 2009, focusing on raising her children.

Vin Diesel possibly teased Suki's return in Fast & Furious 11.

Suki served as a key ally to Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) in 2 Fast 2 Furious, but the character strangely hasn't appeared in any installments since her 2003 franchise debut (that might be about to change, though). Devon Aoki played the prominent female driver who encountered Brian through the local Miami street racing scene in the 2003 action film, directed by John Singleton. Despite being the love interest of Tej Parker (Ludacris) in The Fast and the Furious follow-up, Suki received a concise arc in The Fast Saga.

Fast & Furious 11 will serve as the final installment in the Fast & Furious franchise and is scheduled for a 2026 release.

After assisting Dominic Toretto's (Vin Diesel) escape, Brian fled to Miami to evade the LAPD in 2 Fast 2 Furious. To make money, Brian used his Nissan Skyline in illegal street races hosted by Tej, including a race against Orange Julius (Amaury Nolasco), Slap Jack (Michael Ealy), and Suki, who notably drove her 2000 hot pink Honda S2000 convertible. During the race, the Honda's front bumper was damaged after Suki followed Brian in jumping a bridge to take second place. Nine sequels later, Suki is still considered one of the best female drivers featured in the Fast & Furious franchise.

Devon Aoki Hasn't Returned As Suki After 2 Fast 2 Furious

Suki's Fate Is Unknown

Besides participating in races orchestrated by Tej, Suki also assisted Brian and Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson) when the duo needed to stop US Customs agents from tracking them in 2 Fast 2 Furious. In the warehouse "car scramble" scene, Suki drove Brian's Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII while Tej took Roman's Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GTS in the Fast & Furious movie. The agents unknowingly followed the cars thinking Brian and Roman were behind the wheel.

The Fast Saga also failed to reveal [Suki's] fate, including why she and Tej broke off their relationship for good.

Although Ludacris' Tej and Gibson's Roman returned to the franchise for several more installments, Aoki never reprised her role as Suki following the second Fast & Furious movie. The Fast Saga also failed to reveal the character's fate, including why she and Tej broke off their relationship for good. Granted, the actress had a justifiable reason to remain absent in subsequent sequels.

What Devon Aoki Has Done Since 2 Fast 2 Furious

Aoki Hasn't Acted (Outside Music Videos) Since 2009

In addition to her character in 2 Fast 2 Furious, Aoki is known for her performances in D.E.B.S. and Sin City during the early 2000s. After that, she only appeared in a handful of movies before Aoki retired from full-time acting in 2009 to focus on raising her four children. Since then, Aoki has been seen in a few music videos and documentaries, such as 2016's I'll Sleep When I'm Dead, which followed her half-brother, DJ Steve Aoki.

With Tej and Roman still vital members of The Fast Saga and the franchise's efforts at tying up loose ends, it's possible Aoki could appear before the series ends in Fast & Furious 11. If Suki doesn't return in the main movies, though, she could be involved in the all-female Fast & Furious spinoff in development. It has been more than 20 years since 2 Fast 2 Furious' release, but Suki deserves to finish her story. It would also be a treat for longtime fans to learn what the character has been up to since the days of racing in her pink Honda.

Vin Diesel Teased Suki's Return In Fast & Furious 11

Diesel Shared A Photo With Aoki While Teasing The Upcoming Sequel

The good news is that Aoki might be reprising her role as Suki in Fast & Furious 11. The actress' involvement with the eleventh installment hasn't been confirmed, but Diesel seemingly hinted at Aoki's return in a July 2024 Instagram post. Diesel's post features a recent picture of him and Aoki hugging, and the caption reads:

"One of my favorite pics of 2024… two decades for this moment… as we are in preproduction for the Fast finale, Pablo sent a message, Suki 🙏🏽 All love, Always…"

Perhaps Diesel was merely reminiscing on his reunion with Aoki. Or he was (not so subtly) teasing Suki's return in Fast & Furious 11. After Aoki's one appearance in 2 Fast 2 Furious, Suki's return to the franchise would be extremely exciting for many fans and Aoki would be the perfect addition to the cast of the Fast & Furious finale.
