Many months after it was announced that the strike-delayed series had finally begun shooting, the latest news confirms that Tell Me Lies season 2 has wrapped. The news was revealed by the series' executive producer, Emma Roberts, when she offered a scintillating tease about how season 2 is "more unexpected than people think." Roberts also mentioned that the second season had recently finished filming, and she praised showrunner Meaghan Oppenheimer for her skilled guidance of the drama series through a myriad of obstacles including the 2023 Hollywood strikes.

I feel like we’re feeling the effects of the strikes more so now than we did even last year, which is ironic. Between the strikes and COVID, we’ve just been living in such unprecedented, weird times. I’m so grateful for the TV show I executive produce, Tell Me Lies, which just wrapped filming its second season. With “Space Cadet,” I’m excited to put something out there that I think will make people smile and laugh and hopefully feel a little inspired. I’m so excited for people to see Season 2. It’s more unexpected than people think. Our showrunner, Meaghan Oppenheimer, is incredible. She really took this show to just a new level. With TV shows, it’s fun, especially in a second season — to turn everything on its head. I think we definitely did that and I can’t wait to see people’s reactions.

It didn't take long after the release of the first season for Hulu to opt to renew the fledgling romantic drama. Tell Me Lies season 2 was confirmed in November 2022, but was delayed again and again by various unforeseen circumstances. The Hollywood strikes brought the industry to a halt for most of 2023 and are largely responsible for keeping Tell Me Lies season 2 out of production until early 2024. However, with the sophomore season's filming wrapped, it's only a matter of time before a release date is announced.

The WGA strike was resolved on September 27th, 2023, and the SAG-AFTRA strike was resolved on November 9th, 2023.
