At 17, David met his foster mom Robin, and she tried to help David live a healthier lifestyle. However, this was much easier said than done, as David lived with mental health issues, including suicidal ideation. He turned to food for solace and eventually weighed 800 pounds.

Then, he decided to ask "Dr.Now" for help. David struggled with Dr. Nowzaradan's strict regimen and gained 38 pounds at one point in the process. However, his weight ultimately dropped to 608 pounds. Although he was not able to qualify for bariatric surgery before leaving the show, he showed that he was fully determined to pursue a healthier lifestyle.

Based on David's social media updates, it's obvious that he is still committed to making healthy choices.

David Is Keeping Up With His Weight Loss

According to Instagram, David is out and about, seeing the country, and enjoying so many aspects of his life. He posts regular pictures of his travels on his Instagram page, to keep his followers in the loop. In one of his posts, the My 600-lb Life alum shared a picture of the starry night sky, with the caption, "Look close you see the moon and at the top right you see Venus shinning bright and next to Venus is Jupiter very dim."

According to Looper, he started a GoFundMe in March 2022, to fix the van that he planned to use while traveling to California (and then Texas) to receive his weight loss surgery. In July, David stated that he had relocated to the Lone Star State, and added that he needed financial assistance to move into a house. He wanted to raise $2,500, and his last update shows that he received about $2,605.

In February 2024, David did a video update telling fans specifically about his weight loss progress, and he made the video while exercising.

"We are almost out of the 400s into the 300s."

David described that he does 100 push-ups a day and uses his stationary bike to shed weight and keep it off. Former My 600-lb Life star David may not have the perfect life, but he has definitely come a long way. Although he hasn't actually said that he's had bariatric surgery, the My 600-lb Life alum seems quite content with his life. Fans hope that he keeps making positive strides towards health and happiness.

David tends to post on social media about once a month and keeps fans updated about his weight loss progress. He apologizes to his followers when he goes longer than a month without sharing an update. In his Instagram bio, David also states his progress.

"Starting my journey on my physical and mental health starting weight 825 goal is 250."

David also showcased that he indeed has a love life now. On his most recent post, a smiling selfie, a woman, @deusianesol, commented "I love you" in Portuguese after she wrote, "My baby." David replied, "All yours baby." He also shouts out his girlfriend in his Instagram bio with a wedding ring and the name "Anne."

David appears to be thriving after his appearance on My 600-lb Life. He is working towards his goal weight and now has a special someone who is supporting him. David demonstrates bravery and honesty in his weight loss journey and there is every indication that he will be successful.
