With the year 2024 coming rapidly to a close, HBO released a teaser for their upcoming slate of shows and The White Lotus season 3 was included. Though the bulk of the 2-minute trailer was dedicated to 2024's remaining shows, the 2025 section offered a brief glimpse of the third season. The clip features a character mentioning that "What happens in Thailand, stays in Thailand" before showing Natasha Rothwell's returning character Belinda greeting someone with a big smile.

The White Lotus season 3 was confirmed by HBO in November 2022, only weeks after the second season debut. The speedy renewal isn't surprising, given the series has performed strongly in the ratings. Viewership for the ending episode of season 2 surpassed the anthology's previous record, garnering 2.8 million viewers across HBO's platforms.

HBO announced in November 2023 that there will be nine main characters in The White Lotus season 3, ranging from ages 18-80, with a further thirteen roles being cast.
