The Boys season 4 was renewed quickly by Prime Video in an attempt to capture the swelling popularity of their anti-hero hit. However, the Hollywood strikes of 2023 caused unforeseen delays that have now pushed the show back for over a year. On a more positive note, The Boys season 4 is now scheduled to premiere on June 13th, 2024.

Plenty of possible plot points in The Boys season 4 were teased throughout Gen V, especially in the finale. In the final episode of Gen V season 1 Homelander arrived, and appears to be responsible for Marie and several other Gen V characters being trapped in a Vought facility. The fact that Homelander is so directly involved in the events at Godolkin University was a big reveal, and the God U massacre in the season 1 finale could be a catalyst for events and sentiment toward Supes in The Boys season 4.

Additionally, Victoria Neuman was revealed to have been instrumental in Marie getting into Godolkin. The two have a lot in common, as they share both powers and a childhood at the Red River Institute. Neuman has been set up as a major future antagonist in The Boys, though whose side she's on and what her true goals are remains unclear. However, if she has a vested interest in Marie, then Homelander imprisoning her could put Neuman and Homelander at odds.

Based on the season 3 finale, The Boys season 4 story details become quite clear. Neuman's path to becoming Vice President of the United States has made her The Boys' new top target. Starlight will be working with the team full-time after leaving Vought, while Butcher has 12–18 months to live due to his use of Temp-V. Homelander is also set to become even more dangerous after the public favorably responds to him killing a Starlight fan, while he will also help raise Ryan and work to find new members of The Seven after Black Noir's death, Maeve's presumed death, and Starlight's exit.

Black Noir will seemingly play an intriguing role in the new season as well despite the original character being killed. His storyline was teased with a tweet from the Vought Industries Twitter account calling Black Noir's death a hoax. With it confirmed that Black Noir did indeed die, it appears Vought will attempt to cover this up in some way. This could introduce the cloning aspect of the character which plays a big role in the climax of the story.

Though Morgan's role isn't fully disclosed, he will be so much more than a supporting figure in The Boys going forward.
