CBC family-based comedy drama Heartland has kept viewers captivated on the life and times of the Fleming sisters and their families since it debuted in 2007, and the adventures will continue in Heartland season 18. When the Canadian show Heartland arrived on Netflix it reached an even wider audience, meaning that anticipation for the next chapter of Amy and Lou’s joys and tribulations while running the Heartland ranch couldn’t be higher.

A Landmark 18th Season Is Coming Soon

Because the drama is a Canadian TV institution, it has been put on a pretty consistent schedule of renewals and release dates in recent years. As such, CBC officially renewed Heartland for its landmark 18th season in May 2024, and production got underway immediately. According to series star Amber Marshall, season 18 will arrive on CBC in fall 2024, but it won't be available to stream in the U.S. until sometime in 2025.

The final episode of Heartland season 17 was filled with triumphs and tragedies, and even after the gang got the wedding to go off without a hitch, the family was hit by a major financial blow. Garland Foods' new CEO opted to drop Heartland Beef, meaning the family is set to lose a major source of revenue. Even after making a convincing pitch to the board, Garland still decides to move on from Heartland.

Season 18 is going to have to address this major cliffhanger, and the bulk of the season might involve the family looking for a new distributor for their meat. On the home front, Nathan and Amy's relationship hit a snag over Nathan's horse Powder, but the two were able to work things out with a little help from Lyndy. It's likely that Heartland season 18 could be where Amy and Nathan's love truly soars, or it could again be a source of drama.
