The new Peanuts movie is officially confirmed, and it represents Apple TV+'s commitment to new and exciting original content. The streamer, which hosts shows like Ted Lasso and See, has branched out into animation in the past, and has produced hit children's programming like Harriet the Spy. Along with returning director Steve Martino, the script for the new Peanuts movie will be penned by Karey Kirkpatrick, and co-written by Craig Schulz, Bryan Schulz, and Cornelius Uliano, who also helped write the 2015 movie (via Apple).

Little news has surfaced since the movie was first announced in November 2023, but the streamer did release their first piece of original Peanuts content in early 2024. The short film, Snoopy Presents: Welcome Home Franklin, premiered on February 16, 2024, and was a return to the classic shorts of the past.
