Geoffrey took Kristen's cell phone, hindering her from calling the police, which is why he was charged with aggravated kidnapping, domestic assault, and interference with an emergency call. Kristen only escaped to a neighbor's house for help once Geoffrey fell asleep.

In a very scary timeline of events, Geoffrey was arrested and let out on bail after the assault, and he flew to Russia to film 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 4 with Varya only a few weeks later.
