All 9 Members Of Reacher's 110th Special Investigations Unit Explained

Summary Reacher season 2 introduces Jack Reacher's Special Investigations Unit, a team he hand-picked and developed a deep bond with.

Frances Neagley, a resourceful and dependable team member, plays a bigger role in season 2 after being introduced in season 1.

The death of Calvin Franz, a team member who idolized Jack, sets off the events of season 2, leading Jack and his remaining team members to uncover the truth behind their colleagues' mysterious deaths.

When Reacher season 2 hit Amazon Prime Video in 2023, it introduced all the members of Jack Reacher's 110th Special Investigations Unit. Based on Lee Child's famous novels, Reacher stars Alan Richtson as a former military police officer turned drifter. Coming from his season 1 adventure in Margrave, Georgia, where he stopped a money laundering scheme and avenged his brother's murder, Reacher faces a new case that is personal from the start. After adapting Child's debut installment of the series, Killing Floor, Reacher season 2 skips nine books ahead and tackles Bad Luck and Trouble.

In Reacher season 1, Jack found allies in local cops Roscoe Conklin (Willa Fitzgerald) and Oscar Finlay (Malcolm Goodman). However, long before he met them, Reacher already had his own team. Composed of 10 members, Jack assembled the U.S. Army 110th MP Special Investigations Unit. He hand-picked everyone included in his squad, and despite initial doubts they would work well together, they eventually did. While only the unit's commanding officer for two years, Reacher's 110th members developed a deep bond that made everyone willing to risk their lives to protect one another.

Reacher season 1 effectively established Jack's childhood as an army kid, meaning he moved from one city to another depending on where his father was assigned. Based in Rock Creek, Virginia, Reacher was assigned to spearhead the 110th MP Special Investigations Unit as a Major. Reacher was tasked with forming the team, and he chose nine of the best investigators in the Military Police Corps, both from people he already knew and those he had recommended to him.

Despite being the team's leader, Jack didn't like feeling above everyone else outside a mission. However, he always called the shots regarding operations — something that remains the same as some of his former subordinates reconvene to solve the mysterious deaths of their other members in season 2. Reacher initially ran the team for only two years before they went their separate ways.

8 Frances Neagley

In Child's books, Frances Neagley didn't show up until Without Fail, but the Prime Video series debuted her in Reacher season 1 as a set-up for a much more significant role in season 2. She was the lowest in rank among the Special Investigators as a Master Sargeant, but it didn't mean that she was the weakest. Reacher made her one of his first choices to join the team, and she was the only enlisted individual chosen to work on the elite team of investigators.

Frances Neagley was the only one of Reacher's 110th members to appear in season 1.

She continues to be the closest to Jack and has no problems poking fun at him and his ways. Neagley is resourceful and dependable. After her military stint, she started working as a private investigator and worked her way to becoming a high-ranking member of their firm. She is also easily one of Reacher's closest and most trusted friends, extending their relationship outside Reacher's 110th members.

7 Calvin Franz

Luke Bilyk

The death of Calvin Franz instigates the events of Reacher season 2. While Reacher treated him as an equal, being also a Major, Franz always looked up to him as his idol. He was recruited to the 100th Special Investigations Unit after Jack learned how Calvin could pacify a fight, effectively harkening to his own childhood bully story. Since the two were of equal ranking through their 13 years of Army service, Calvin sat at the top of Reacher's list when putting together the team.

After wrapping up his stint as a member of the Special Investigator, Franz opened his private investigating firm and was a devoted husband to his wife and father to his young son. He debuted in The Enemy in the novels, but on the TV series, his first appearance was his death, which kicked off season 2. After he wrapped up the case, Reacher ensured Calvin's wife and son received money to support themselves.

6 David O'Donnell

Shaun Sipos

Reacher and Neagley recruit David O'Donnell to their mission in Reacher season 2. Known for his laid-back personality, he tends to make sarcastic comments. He comes off as dense because of his penchant for running his mouth, but like everyone else in Jack's military team, he is a skilled fighter. However, he usually lies low and lets Reacher do the manual work, considering he is considerably smaller than his superior.

O'Donnell was a Captain as one of Reacher's 110th members.

However, David is often underestimated thanks to his good looks and subdued appearance. He has two specialty weapons: a ceramic switchblade and a ceramic knuckleduster. They are both stronger than steel and slip past metal detectors. O'Donnell was a Captain as one of Reacher's 110th members. His happy-go-lucky demeanor dictated his previous dating life, but despite insisting on not wanting to be tied down, O'Donnell ends up married with kids in Reacher season 2.

5 Karla Dixon

Serinda Swan

Like the other Special Investigators, Reacher personally chose Karla Dixon to join his unit. She was a former Major in the U.S. Army. Known for her love of numbers, O'Donnell once referred to her as someone from the accounting services, and she went on to become a forensic accountant after her military career ended.

Beyond being teammates, Dixon and Reacher were also mutually attracted to each other. However, Reacher initially turned down her advances, convinced it would be inappropriate for them to have a romantic relationship. In Reacher season 2, they reunite to find Calvin's murderer and finally act on their feelings, although it was mostly a one-time affair. They go their separate ways after the mission ends. Before they part, Reacher ensures that Dixon has the money she needs to start her own business.

4 Tony Swan

Shannon Kook

Tony Swan was another member of the 110th Special Investigations Unit. A lover of music, he liked playing the guitar, which usually resulted in some fun, laid-back moments for the team. However, initially, Swan didn't get along with the other team members. This fact all changed when he instigated a bar fight while defending Neagley, which helped the entire team bond at that moment.

After the squad was dissolved, he moved to Queens. Reacher season 2 reveals he isn't the easiest former member to contact, as he values his privacy. In "Picture Says a Thousand Words," Reacher, Neagley, O'Donnell, and Dixon discover that he works at New Age — the show's antagonists, as the Assistant Director of Security. However, he was investigating the criminals inside the company and ended up murdered when he got too close to the truth.

3 Stan Lowrey

Dean McKenzie

Despite being the oldest member of the Special Investigators, Reacher recruited Stan Lowrey for his sharpshooting skills. He championed the Army Marksmanship competition six times, both pistol and rifle. He was part of Operation Kite Runner, which was the drug bust that got the team disbanded because their superiors wanted to cover it up. After this, Lowrey retired from the military.

Stan Lowrey is the only one of Reacher's 110th members who was dead before the season's story started.

Unfortunately, by the time the events of Reacher season 2 start, Lowrey is already dead, having been killed two years earlier in a car accident in Montana, where he was raising sheep on a ranch. Neagley revealed this fact and said that he died when a drunk driver hit him with a truck. All Reacher's 110th members were at the funeral except for Jack, who was off the grid and didn't know it happened until two years later.

2 Jorge Sanchez

Andres Collantes

Jack Reacher handpicked Jorge Sanchez to join his 110th unit. He was one of the key members of Jack's team as they investigated various crimes, including Operation Kite Runner, which got the team disbanded. Very little is known about Jorge's past and skills, but the one important thing to note is that he and fellow team member Manuel Orozco were close friends in the military and remained so after they left.

After their stint in the military, Jorge Sanchez and Manuel Orozco remained close, just as they were before they were recruited by Jack to the 110th Special Investigator. In Reacher season 2, the surviving members of the team track down Sanchez's friend, Milena, who provides them with valuable information about his last known whereabouts. Unfortunately, it's already too late to save him. The team learned that Sanchez and Orozco's bodies were also found the same way Franz's was in the Catskills, murdered and discarded.

1 Manuel Orozco

Edsson Morales

Manuel Orozco and Jorge Sanchez were close friends while serving in the U.S. Army before Jack Reacher enlisted them to join his elite team of investigators. They remained close as they helped Reacher with his missions for two years. They then remained close to each other when the team disbanded, and they eventually returned to the civilian world.

When Manuel Orozco's body is found in Reacher season 2, Jack reveals more about his late unit member. His sister was terrified that he would die and never be recognized, so he decided to have his name tattooed on his back to reassure her that he would always be identified. Unfortunately, the Prime Video original series doesn't spend much time exploring his backstory. Instead, he ends up as just another lost Reacher 110th member that Jack has to bury and avenge along the way.
