Ted Lasso Season 4: Will It Happen? Everything We Know
The smash hit Apple TV+ original comedy series Ted Lasso has had three successful seasons, and despite the finale to the third being the intended end of the show, there's already Ted Lasso season 4 news to hint it may live on. Starring Saturday Night Live alumnus Jason Sudeikis in the titular role of Ted, the series follows the hapless American football coach as he attempts to turn around a struggling English soccer team. Immediately praised for its whip-smart humor and likable characters, Ted Lasso was the surprise hit of 2020.
Ted Lasso's future after season 3 was always in question, and many on the show's creative team viewed the series as a three-season story. However, the possibility of Ted Lasso season 4 has never officially been ruled out, and the overwhelming popularity of the show could keep it going far beyond the originally intended three-season journey. Ted Lasso's cast and characters have always been its greatest asset, and if the show continued, it could do so on the strength of those players alone. While nothing is set in stone, there's still a lot of Ted Lasso season 4 news.

Voicing his desire to come back no matter what, Hashim said "[I don't] think this is the end of Ted Lasso. It could be in 20 years time that [we] come back." Ted Lasso Season 4 Is Not Confirmed
Ted Lasso Season 4 Isn't Happening Yet
Apple and the creative team behind Ted Lasso have given no indication of whether the show will have a fourth season. Ever since the second season, the show has been treated as a trilogy from a creative standpoint, but that is not a definitive answer regarding future seasons. Though there have been numerous reasons why Ted Lasso season 3 is the last one, the lack of any confirmation of that fact is quite unusual. Shows coming to a designed end typically have a lot of fanfare surrounding their final season, but it seems as if Ted Lasso hasn't sung its swan song quite yet.
Ted Lasso season 3 concluded on May 31, 2023.
Ted Lasso Season 4 Cast Details
Which Stars Could Be Back In Season 4?
After Ted Lasso season 3's finale, it may be slightly easier to work out which cast members could return for season 4's cast. Due to Ted's ending specifically, it would be unlikely to see Jason Sudeikis return now that his character is living happily with his son in Kansas City. Concerning A.F.C. Richmond though, the ensemble could still return for Ted Lasso season 4, which could give supporting players a chance to shine.
The presumptive cast of Ted Lasso season 4 includes:
Actor Ted Lasso Character Brett Goldstein Roy Brendan Hunt Beard Hannah Waddingham Rebecca Nick Mohammed Nate Shelley Juno Temple Kelley Jeremy Swift Leslie Higgins James Lance Trent Crimm

What's Next For AFC Richmond?
After Ted Lasso season 3 gracefully wrapped up, the ending of the finale includes some elements that hint at the Ted Lasso season 4 story. While the titular character's ending was incredibly satisfying, the ending scene of Ted coaching Henry's soccer team back in Kansas could also be the basis for Ted Lasso season 4, though it would risk tarnishing the character's conclusion. This would certainly be the best way to reintroduce Ted's character, though the more promising story details center on the status of A.F.C Richmond back in London.
While they missed out on the Premier League title, the team qualified for European football via the Champions League, one of football's most prestigious tournaments. This competition was mentioned multiple times in Ted Lasso season 3, episode 12, meaning a Ted Lasso season 4 story centered on Roy, Nate, and Beard leading Richmond to European glory could well be a possibility. The continuation of the show without Ted could lead the more underutilized squad members of A.F.C Richmond to shine, with a European setting giving the series a fresh spin.
Will Ted Lasso Have Any Spinoffs?
Where The Franchise Could Go In The Future
Ted Lasso season 3 could have set up a potential spinoff in the form of Keeley Jones' ending. At the end of Ted Lasso season 3, Keeley presented Rebecca with a new idea for A.F.C Richmond: a women's team. Women's football is becoming more prevalent in the U.K., especially after the England women's national team - nicknamed the Lionesses - won the UEFA European Women's Championship in 2022. As a result, a spinoff of Ted Lasso centering on Richmond's women's team could certainly serve as a good spiritual successor to the show.
