Destiny 2: How to Use The Checkpoint Bot
Checkpoints are easily lost in Destiny 2, but managing to use a Checkpoint Bot can give Guardians a way to skip content to farm loot easily during missions. Certain encounters, like boss fights, can be exploited using the Rally Flags you can place during certain sections of a mission. These allow defeated Guardians to rejoin the fight, but a Checkpoint Bot can be used to skip or restart various activities.
The game places a Rally Flag for you before important fights or activities during a mission, allowing you to return to your Fireteam even if you are defeated. Checkpoint Bots set up something similar, giving Guardians a chance to join a team if they can follow a tracker. Normally, you would have to grind for a checkpoint, which can be tedious for farming weapons in Destiny 2 or other loot.
Certain checkpoints are more popular than others, especially if the mission is part of a new event or one that is played over and over for rare loot. Be careful when using trackers to find Checkpoint Bots for these types of missions since the Fireteams involved tend to be full.

Find The Right Codes For Various Activities
Codes for Checkpoint Bots can be found on D2Checkpoint.com, a website that lists the available activities you can join and how many members of a Fireteam are participating in the event. While the tracker isn't always accurate, many destinations should have spots open. Some common destinations include the Deep Stone Crypt, the Vault of Glass, and the Shuro-Chi Last Wish boss in Destiny 2.
You can join an activity using a Checkpoint Bot by opening the chat box and entering /Join CheckpointBot#0000 with the right code. The four numbers at the end of this sequence determine which event you jump into, so you need to input the right code without any errors. As of this time of writing, there are 12 Checkpoint Bot codes on the site you can use to jump into checkpoints without having to grind for your weekly one.
The chat box for Destiny 2 can be opened by pressing "Enter" on your PC or tapping the Right D-Pad button on your controller to start inputting any Checkpoint Bot code.
All the checkpoints available right now are tied to specific bosses, but the larger Raid or mission should help give you context on which enemies you'll face during the event as well. The activities and their codes are:

The proper etiquette behind a Checkpoint Bot is to quickly get into an encounter, wipe to save the checkpoint, and then leave without clearing anything. Finishing an encounter by clearing it will disrupt the process behind a Bot in Destiny 2, so don't be tempted to eliminate everything you see when entering an activity. You shouldn't use the Fireteams you join to level weapons or unlock an Exotic Catalyst either.
Check back on the site from time to time to see what new codes have been dropped as updates occur, and new expansions introduce additional events. A Bot will monitor the time you spend when part of a Fireteam to effectively farm specific content tied to the activity it is trying to exploit. Figuring out how to use a Checkpoint Bot in Destiny 2 can help farm certain gear much faster when you follow the right steps.
