Mystery series continue to be huge draws for Hulu and other streaming services and Shardlake offers a new spin on the genre with its period setting. With the Shardlake novels having plenty of fans, this could potentially be the kick-off of a new franchise for Hulu with Arthur Hughes stepping into the titular role, while Sean Bean returns to television offering some further gravitas to the story as Cromwell. The Contestant is the look into a strange true story that feels like aspects of Jim Carrey’s movie The Truman Show come to life. It details a Japanese game show in which a contestant named Tomoaki Hamatsu participated in a challenge in which he attempted to last a year alone inside a small room with no connection to the outside world. Hamatsu was not aware that the challenge was being aired on television.

After originally planning to air in April 2024, Welcome to Wrexham season 3 will finally arrive on Hulu on May 3. The show has become one of the most unique and entertaining sports documentaries in recent years as it follows the aftermath of actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney becoming owners of a Welsh soccer team that has been underperforming for years. Though Willis has sadly retired from movies, this franchise is perfect to look back on and remember the great work he delivered to fans.

One of Hulu’s biggest reality series is back for a new season on May 23. The Kardashians returns for season 5 as it continues to follow one of the biggest celebrity families in America as they navigate their busy lifestyles, enjoying their lives of luxury, and having plenty of drama with each other. This season is particularly anticipated as it will surely dive deeper into the rift between Kim and Kourtney.

The Kardashians have become synonymous with reality television for better or worse.
