In the works since 2018, Coyote vs. Acme has seen several notable regime changes throughout its lengthy production process. Eventually, director Dave Green was tapped to lead the live-action and animation hybrid film, and he calls upon his previous experience as a director on movies like Earth to Echo from 2014 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows from 2016. Several months after the movie was declared shelved by a few damning reports from industry insiders, the latest news sees Coyote vs. Acme uncanceled once again. Counteracting earlier reports that the movie was shelved for good, Warner Bros. has revealed that they are still shopping the movie to prospective buyers. Furthermore, a spokesperson for Warner Bros. called news suggesting the film was scrapped as a tax write-off "inaccurate". The live-action and animation hybrid has yet to find a buyer and may still never be seen by the public.

However, only a few months later, Warner counteracted that decision and revealed they were still shopping the movie to prospective buyers. This news doesn't necessarily mean the movie will ever see the light of day.
