Diablo 4: Vessel Of Hatred - 10 Most Powerful Spiritborn Legendary Aspects, Ranked
Legendary Aspects in Diablo 4 are passive buffs applied to gear you find, with many being tied to a specific class, like the Vessel of Hatred expansion's new Spiritborn archetype. The Spiritborn uses the elements and powerful transformations to take on the forces of evil. The new Aspects you can find for this class can enhance these abilities, allowing your character to become much stronger.
The Aspects you get in Diablo 4 can be salvaged from Legendary or rarer gear to permanently remain in your Codex of Power. Every trait stored within the Codex of Power in Diablo 4 can be divided into five categories - Offensive, Defensive, Utility, Resource, and Mobility. Whether you farm these Aspects from Nahantu dungeons or enemy drops, many are worth discovering based on your ongoing character build.
For the intents of this list, the Legendary Aspects included are ones specifically associated with the class. There are many general Aspects that are universal to all archetypes that you can also apply to a good Spiritborn build.
10 Unrelenting Aspect
Create Endless Shockwaves
Aspect Description Unrelenting Aspect Every 3rd consecutive Crushing Hand smashes an additional 10 times around you, dealing a percentage of its base damage per hit.
The core of the Spiritborn's skills is the four Spirit Guardians you can call upon, with the Unrelenting Aspect revolving around the Gorilla spirit named Wumba. This Guardian specializes in dealing physical damage and building your defenses to resist enemy attacks. This Aspect works with a Core node skill from the Gorilla Guardian called Crushing Hand, which summons Wumba to create two massive shockwaves.
Related Diablo 4 Season 6 Updates Are Welcome, But Don't Take It Far Enough Diablo 4 has made great strides since release, but it still suffers from frustrating issues, like a confusing Paragon Board with lackluster rewards.
Normally, this skill isn't anything too special against enemies, but the Aspect makes it much stronger. When you spend your Vigor resource on activating Crushing Hand a third time, it creates 10 shockwaves instead of two, allowing you to clear crowds easily. This Offensive buff covers one of the Spiritborn's weaknesses while using the Gorilla guardian, which usually focuses on single-target damage most of the time.
9 Raider's Aspect
Poison Enemies For Extra Health
Aspect Description Raider's Aspect Heal for a small percentage of your Maximum Life when you Poison a Healthy enemy.
The Raider's Aspect works hand-in-hand with Balazan the Centipede, the poisonous Spirit Guardian you can use to deal AoE damage to enemies. This Guardian is best for clearing crowds by inflicting poison damage on multiple enemies during a fight. However, this Guardian struggles to keep you alive through the Eagle's mobility or the Gorilla's physical defense buffs, making this Aspect stronger than you'd think.
The Spiritborn class can select two different Spirit Guardians out of four total, allowing you to adjust your build with various Aspects that take advantage of multiple spirits.
Since Elite enemies and bosses always summon a multitude of minions, the Raider's Aspect can keep you alive by simply using a Centipede ability that poisons your foes. This Aspect stacks when you reapply poison, giving you a consistent way to stack its healing effect. While it may not be useful on every Spiritborn build, it can be great at lower levels as you explore new content in the Vessel of Hatred expansion.
8 Aspect Of Apprehension
Slow Down Enemies In Their Tracks
Aspect Description Aspect of Apprehension Once an enemy is Slowed by at least 80%, they also become Feared for three seconds. You deal increased damage to Feared enemies.
Several of the Gorilla and Centipede Guardian skills for the Spiritborn in Diablo 4 inflict the Slow condition on enemies, making the Aspect of Apprehension a strong passive buff. Unlike other Offensive or Defensive skills that only activate through a Lucky Hit, there are guaranteed ways to make this Utility aspect work. The increased damage to Feared enemies can make battles against Season 6 bosses extremely easy.
Again, this Aspect works well on certain builds, but it benefits more from a group of friends at your side. Unlike other Aspects that support the Spiritborn only so much on its own, this Aspect can be used effectively alongside another character whose build can slow down targets. For example, an ally Rogue can use Trap skills to slow enemies and stack with this effect to create a high DPS team for dungeon crawls.
7 Aspect Of Haste
Combine Speed With Other Abilities
Aspect Description Aspect of Haste Every second while moving, gain a percentage of Bonus Movement Speed for two seconds, up to [30-75]%.
The Aspect of Haste is a Spiritborn Mobility Aspect that, surprisingly, doesn't affect any of the class' skills directly. Instead, it grants you heightened mobility for moving around, making it perfect for those who opt into the Jaguar or Eagle Guardian Spirits for their build. Both these Guardians change your Spiritborn to be highly mobile, favoring guerrilla tactics rather than status effects or tank-like defenses.
6 Aspect Of Turbulence
Conjure A Storm Of Wind On Crowds
Aspect Description Aspect of Turbulence Soar casts Vortex at its landing location and deals extra damage.
Anyone looking to invest in the Eagle Guardian's skills should always use the Aspect of Turbulence, which combines two abilities into one. Soar allows your Spiritborn to leap from one point of a fight to another, making enemies Vulnerable wherever they land. With this Aspect, you can also conjure a cyclone that pulls enemies in and deals damage once they've been weakened somewhat by Soar.
The Spiritborn class can gain and stack passive resources called Ferocity and Resolve through different skills. Ferocity increases your Attack Speed, while Resolve increases your character's total Damage Reduction.
This deadly combo is the crux of some strong Spiritborn builds, including the one seen in the above video by YouTube creator Goblin Inc. With other items that increase your Vigor cap, you can use this Aspect's trait more often. Several unique class items in Diablo 4 can bolster the Spiritborn's vigor, so try to take down dangerous enemies for rare drops of gear with the right effects.
5 Tormentor's Aspect
Destroy Poisoned Enemies Fast
Aspect Description Tormentor's Aspect Enemies who move while Poisoned by you additionally take [50-250]% of your Thorns damage per second.
The Tormentor's Aspect can work great with any character build designed around gear that grants Thorns to a character. Thorns apply damage to enemies who hit you, but it can be lackluster solely as a stat of some armor pieces in Diablo 4. With this Aspect, you can take the poisoned effect applied by Centipede skills and cause enemies to take massive amounts of damage simply by moving toward you.
4 Aspect of Temporal Incisions
Keep Buffs Active For Longer
Aspect Description Aspect of Temporal Incisions Casting Rushing Claw extends the durations of your active Incarnate skills by some seconds, stacked up to several times.
The Aspect of Temporal Incisions works best for those with a Jaguar Spiritborn build that uses fire and speed to decimate enemies. This Aspect works alongside Rushing Claw, a skill that sees you slash through enemies twice for basic damage. However, with this Aspect equipped, you can extend the passive buffs provided by other skills, even those from other Spirit Guardians.
Those looking for an excellent Jaguar Spiritborn build should check out the above video by YouTube creator Raxxanterax, who goes over the class' skill tree and Legendary powers you may want to have.
The Incarnate skills of the Spiritborn include:
Counterattack (Jaguar)
Ravager (Jaguar)
Toxic Skin (Centipede)
Armored Hide (Gorilla)
These skills all provide mobility boosts, Attack Speed bonuses, or general defensive protection for your Spiritborn. Using this Aspect to extend these effects will not only help conserve Vigor for other abilities but also let you refine your character build further. You can rely on more speed through the Jaguar by extending Counterattack, or double down on a poison-focused build by using this Aspect to keep Toxic Skin active.
3 Aspect of Empowered Feathers
Gain Speed Through Basic Actions
Aspect Description Aspect of Empowered Feathers Lucky Hit: Eagle skills have a chance to summon a Spirit Feather. You can collect Spirit Feathers to reduce your Mobiliy Skill cooldowns by 0.5 seconds each.
As you reach higher levels in Diablo 4, you'll quickly realize that Legendary Aspects like the Aspect of Empowered Feathers are great for reducing cooldowns on your important skills. This Aspect summons unique items to pick up called Spirit Feathers to reduce the cooldown of Mobility skills. Eagle skills are often tied to speed, so this Aspect is perfect for restoring some of the class' most defining and flexible abilities.

For example, the Soar ability of the Eagle Spirit Guardian is almost always something you want to use in battle. However, it has a longer cooldown than most, especially when compared to other Spirit Guardian skills. Using this Aspect will give you access to your best Mobility skills more often, allowing your Spiritborn to move across the battlefield more often as situations change.
2 Aspect of Pestilence
Make Wandering Swarms For Extra Damage
Aspect Description Aspect of Pestilence Stinger spawns a Pestilent Swarm at its target location which deals [35-75]% of Stinger's base damage per hit. Pestilent Swarms now last 100% longer and spiral outwards.
The Aspect of Pestilence is by far the best Aspect you can have with the Centipede Spirit Guardian for how it creates Pestilent Swarms. A Pestilent Swarm is a swirling green orb of poisons that impacts on enemies to explode for large damage. This supports the AoE focus of a Centipede Spiritborn build, especially when you spawn more Swarms with unique items like those seen in the above video by YouTube creator MrRonit.
Stringer is an ability of the Centipede's that creates a large aura of damage to both enemies near its target and any poisoned foes nearby. The abundance of Swarms it can muster just from being used reliably last longer with this Aspect, allowing you to rack up damage constantly. Like most AoE builds, this is something Centipede builds tend to struggle with, making this Aspect great for correcting that weakness.
1 Reaper's Aspect
Combine Guardians To Eliminate Bosses
Aspect Description Reaper's Aspect Enemies you Poison have 100% Reduced Healing and your Eagle Skills gain increased Critical Strike Chance against them.
Poison is already a debilitating condition applied by the Spiritborn's Centipede skills, but the Reaper's Aspect takes things up a notch. This Aspect prevents enemies afflicted with Poison from healing at all, including deadly bosses you encounter. With the added Critical Strike Chance increase to Eagle abilities, you basically get uninterrupted chances to deal incredible damage to your greatest foes over and over.
Related Diablo 4: Vessel Of Hatred Final Boss & Ending Explained (In Detail) Vessel of Hatred picks up the main story of Diablo 4 where the base game left off, and features an emotionally charged ending and final battle.
Not many Aspects combine the best traits of two Spirit Guardians to synergize the two you get to pick for your character's skills. This Aspect is one of the most powerful for the Spiritborn class in Diablo 4 for this reason, so take the time to find an item with this trait as soon as you can in Season 6 for the game's new archetype.
