Throne And Liberty: How To Farm Salt & What It's Used For

In the popular free-to-play MMORPG Throne and Liberty, salt is an essential resource for anyone who is looking to level up their cooking skills. Cooking is a vital life skill in the game, allowing you to create dishes that will grant you some useful buffs as you explore the world of Solisium. However, several recipes will require salt, which may seem like a common enough ingredient, but it can actually be surprisingly difficult to find.

You'll definitely want to spend the time it takes to hone your culinary skills and gather the ingredients you'll need. The buffs you will get from the meals you make can make all the difference when you are taking on a tough boss, participating in PvP, or out exploring Solisium. All the ingredients you will need to start cooking can be found through gathering, fishing, defeating specific enemies, buying from Sundries Merchants, Amitoi Expeditions, or quest rewards. As you explore, make sure to keep an eye out for other ingredients that you'll need to cook your next meal.

Where To Find And Farm Salt

There are a few methods of finding and farming salt. The first is by defeating monsters located in Windhill Shores, which will occasionally drop salt as a reward when defeated. Fast-travel to the Windhill Shores Waypoint and begin targeting the Chestaceans, Hermit Lobsters, Large Stone Crabs, and Megalobsters in the area: any of these foes has the potential to drop salt. It can also be found by defeating Sea Crabs, Hermit Crabs, Starlight Fireflies, and Iron Chestaceans found at Daybreak Shore in Stonegard at higher levels.

You are also able to obtain salt in Zenus's Star Shop using Star Crystals. Salt (x10) currently sells for five Star Crystals. However, if you spend too many Star Crystals on salt, you may miss out on being able to purchase more valuable items from the store.

The second, more efficient, method of farming salt is through Amitoi Expeditions. As you progress through Throne and Liberty, you'll unlock the ability to travel to the Amitoi House and assign Amitoi to complete timed missions for important resources. Assign boosted Amitoi (the arrow next to them during selection indicates the boost) to any of the expeditions that yield salt as soon as you can.

Amitoi Expeditions Rewarding Salt Name Expedition Team Level Type Windhill Shores (Laslan) 3 Shore Ustella Fields (Laslan) 4 Plains Monolith Wastelands (Stonegard) 7 Desert Abandoned Stonemason Town (Stonegard) 8 Desert Moonlight Desert (Stonegard) 9 Desert Sandworm Lair (Stonegard) 10 Desert

You should always have an Amitoi Expedition underway to maximize the amount of salt you are getting while also leveling up your Amitoi.

The most effective way of farming salt fast is to hunt monsters at Windhill Shores while waiting for your Amitoi Expeditions to finish. A good time-saving trick here is to aggro several enemies and defeat them all at once using an AOE attack.

Use Salt To Cook Helpful Items

After collecting enough salt and other ingredients, you'll be able to start creating meals and leveling up your cooking skills. To cook a dish, you'll first need to find and interact with a Bonfire in the wilds, or a Cooking Oven in a town or city (there's one located in Kastleton near the crafting NPCs).

To cook, first ensure you have the ingredients you'll need for the dish, then interact with the oven, select your recipe, and get cooking. Here is a list of the recipes that use salt, each taking one salt to cook:

Meal Cooking Level Effect Meat and Onion Soup 1 All Defense +150, Duration 15-30 min. Vegetable Stir-Fry 1 Max Health +300, Health Regen +20, Duration 15-30 min. Rye Bread 1 Fishing Mastery Bonus +15%, Duration 15-30 min. Mushroom Stir-Fry 2 Max Mana +300, Mana Regen +20, Duration 15-60 min. Kastler Salad 3 EXP Bonus +50%, Duration 15-60 min. Wild Game Steak 4 All Hit Chance +60, All Heavy Attack Chance +60, Duration 15-30 min. Laslan-Style Braised Meat 9 All Evasion +50, Skill Damage Resist. +60, Duration 15-60 min. Crab Meat Pie 9 Sollant Bonus +50%, Abyssal Contract Token Efficiency +10%, Duration 15-60 min. Grilled Crown Fish 13 Bonus Damage +7, Skill Damage Boost +50, Duration 15-60 min. Vienta-Style Seafood 15 Incoming Heal +2.5%, Amitoi Heal +50%, Duration 15-60 min. Scorpion Tail Fritters 17 Movement Speed +3.5%, Attack Speed +3%, Duration 15-60 min.

Always be on the lookout for additional ingredients to gather as you explore; the more complicated the recipe, the more you will need. Leveling up your cooking and making meals for yourself or your guild will make you an invaluable part of any team, so don't forget to spend some time around the oven while exploring the world of Throne and Liberty.
