Vishwa / Galea

(8 May 1943 – 9 October 2024)

Galea (Vishwa) Borate (born in Koblenz/Germany), an artist with a soul deeply committed to truth, has transitioned to another realm. She left peacefully in the company of her beloved sister, Helga.

From a young age her life was devoted to personal growth and the pursuit of truth. In addition to her connection with Osho, she was drawn to the profound teachings of Buddhism and listened attentively to Eckart Tolle, particularly in her later years.

Galea found her true love when she met her Indian husband, Ravi (Akhil), who was known in the Osho International Meditation Resort as a tennis player. She had been living with him in Koregaon Park near the Resort for over 20 years. Her home was a reflection of her spirit and her painting studio was her sanctuary. For Galea, painting was a form of meditation – giving her serenity and peace.

She had a deep appreciation for the extraordinary, yet there was also simplicity woven into her life. Just like in her paintings, her life radiated beauty in every detail. This beauty extended to every aspect of her world: the carefully-chosen furniture, her unique sense of style, the way she prepared meals, or even the way she arranged flowers in a vase. She had a keen sense of finding beauty in the smallest details.

Galea’s generous and graceful heart was always open to share moments of quality time with friends.

Ah, one more passion of hers was to support animal rescue, particularly supporting puppies or grown-up dogs to find a caring home.

For many years, she lovingly cared for her husband during his long illness. Since autumn 2023, she required care herself after suffering a stroke, from which she never fully recovered.

Surely her freedom-loving soul was ready to leave the body.

Fly high, dear friend! We wish you a peaceful and light transition into a presence which will fulfill your deepest longing for finally coming home.

Thank you for having been our dearly-loved friend.
