Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred - All Nahantu Stronghold Dungeon Locations

The Vessel of Hatred expansion for Diablo 4 introduces the new region of Nahantu, a jungle landscape with more Stronghold dungeons you can visit in different locations. All of these areas have been taken over by the forces of evil, dominating the land and imprisoning Nahantu's inhabitants. Your character can take on waves of enemies and bosses here to gain great rewards, including new fast-travel Waypoints.

You may remember Strongholds in the Fractured Peaks, Hawezar, and many other locations in Sanctuary. Every region has three Strongholds that can be cleared to unlock fast travel spots and additional vendor NPCs with which to interact. While not the case with every Stronghold, the ones in Nahantu are very similar to those in Sanctuary, offering you tons of Gold and XP for defeating the enemies they host.

Follow The Path Toward The Red Skull

Strongholds are marked on Nahantu's map with a symbol of a glowing red skull, which should give you a good idea of where to look. However, like many dungeons in Diablo 4, each Stronghold has its own requirements you have to follow to clear it. For example, one Stronghold may want you to destroy a few artifacts before challenging a boss, while another may ask you to farm Elite enemies for special items.

Here's where you can find every new Stronghold dungeon in the Nahantu region:

Close Kichuk Northeast of Teganze Plateau, near the border between the Nahantu and Hawezar regions in Diablo 4. Close The Festering Dark Near the southeast corner of Nahantu, within the Restless Canopy area. Close

Clearing Strongholds will always reward you with Renown, a unique currency tied to your reputation in the Nahantu region. Progressing through levels of Renown will earn you various rewards, including loot Caches for powerful gear.

Approaching many of these Strongholds will lock you into conflict until you clear it, so make sure your character is strong enough to face one's challenge. Try to complete other side quests first to grow stronger before taking on some Strongholds of a much higher level. This way, you can collect some rare gear or gain experience with Diablo 4's new class in Season 6 to take on these enemy bases.

How To Clear Chakhir Stronghold

Chakhir Stronghold starts with you having to find the source of the toxic magic polluting the place. Destroy every brewing cauldron in the area while wiping out the enemies that defend them, especially the Elite foes called Cauldron Keepers that can be tough to take down. The barrier around the central cauldron fades once you take out all the sources of magic protecting it.

Once every cauldron is destroyed, you can challenge the mini-boss of this area, an enemy named Darm. Darm conjures poisonous flowers that explode and deal toxic damage to you and your allies, so watch out for these AoE attacks. Defeating Darm will allow you to destroy the Falo Blooms causing this situation and summon the bosses Sinerat and Skerg, who you can beat to clear the Stronghold.

The rewards for beating this Stronghold include:

100 Renown

How To Clear Kichuk Stronghold

Enemies are attacking Kichuk Stronghold right away, so take out every foe you see once you arrive here. You then have to free villagers from cages around the area, but these NPCs begin to follow you around. Although it may not lead to any additional rewards, you can try to defend the lives of the villagers you save to the best of your ability.

Lead the villagers to the center of town and defend them against the waves of enemies that arrive. Once they've been dealt with, head into the caves to prevent them from attacking again. Inside the caves, you need to destroy several pillars to collapse the area, but you'll need to take on some dangerous enemies and escape the falling rocks in time to survive.

Returning to the village will see it's citizens recover and tell you where to find the boss of the enemies that attacked. Tracking down the boss, named Kirma, won't be hard with its location marked on your map. However, this boss can be tricky to take down, as it recovers its health and does everything in its power to prevent you from defeating it and clearing the Stronghold.

The rewards for beating this Stronghold include:

100 Renown

Kichuk Waypoint

How To Clear The Festering Dark Stronghold

The Festering Dark Stronghold is more complex than others, as you have to pick up a lantern to see around the dungeon. You can't attack while holding the lantern, so you have to drop it whenever your character is getting attacked. If you ever lose the lantern, you can use some nearby runes to summon it again at any time.

Your objective here is to light a series of braziers in the dark tunnels of the Stronghold. Whenever you light a brazier, the lantern will move on its own to a barrier you can destroy to reveal the true enemies of this dark place. When you light enough braziers, a mini-boss called Vesicator will show up, who you can defeat to move on.

Taking down Vesicator will let you travel to the Gates of the Necropolis, where you can challenge a boss named Maleficium. This enemy is quite powerful and becomes completely invulnerable when they extinguish the braziers you took time to light up. Maleficium can only be damaged in the light, so you need to relight a brazier to expose the boss once again and beat it to clear the Stronghold.

The rewards for beating this Stronghold include:

100 Renown

Gates of the Necropolis Waypoint

Unlocks Betrayed Tomb Dungeon

Every Stronghold you clear will give you tons of Gold and XP, along with great loot drops from the bosses you defeat. Finding all the Stronghold locations in Nahantu will help you grow much stronger as you continue exploring everything new in the Vessel of Hatred expansion for Diablo 4.
