Frasier’s Talk Show Returning In The Reboot Addressed By EPs
Frasier executive producers Joe Cristalli and Chris Harris address the chances of Dr. Crane's daytime talk show returning in the reboot. Premiered in 2023, the reboot follows the titular psychiatrist as, after the death of his father and the end of his nearly 20-year relationship with Charlotte, moves back to Boston to better his relationship with his son Frederick, now a firefighter. Also, during the years between the original series and the reboot, Frasier hosted a famous daytime television show in Chicago after leaving his radio show in Seattle.
In a recent interview with TV Insider, executive producers Joe Cristalli and Chris Harris addressed the chances of Frasier's daytime talk show returning in the reboot. Cristalli hints that it's possible, especially after they've "set the groundwork" with the return of his agent Bebe Glazer (Harriet Sansom Harris), and her daughter Phoebe (Rachel Bloom), who could trick Frasier into doing the show again. Read their full comments below:
Joe Cristalli: I don’t know. It would be fun to see him do that show again at some point. We’ve set the groundwork for them to trick him, so it does feel like they should eventually be able to trick him into doing it, which would be very funny. There’s something funny about him walking into a studio not knowing that the set is built and that he’s doing a show, and he’s just doing it. Chris Harris: They’d have to appeal to Frasier wears his heart on his sleeve. He goes overboard trying to do things for other people and they’d probably have to appeal to that. Cristalli: Well, think about all the people you haven’t helped in the three years you’ve been off the air. Oh my god, there’s so many people that need my help. Yeah, they’d pull on that string real hard, I think. And Chris is right.

During Frasier season 2, episode 5 of the reboot, Frasier's flirtatious and duplicitous agent Bebe Glazer returns, along with the introduction of her daughter. Frasier and Phoebe immediately hit off due to their shared love of finer culture, including the opera, and he begins to question whether she might be his daughter due to the night he spent with Bebe nearly 30 years ago. However, it's all an elaborate ruse, and Phoebe only pretended to share similar interests with Frasier in order to convince him to revive his daytime talk show.

At the end of the episode, Frasier swears he will never revive his daytime talk show, but allows Phoebe to be added to his team as an agent who, along with her mother, are plotting to do just that. In turn, as Cristalli says, the groundwork has been laid for Frasier to revive his daytime talk show, especially with Phoebe and Bebe tricking him into doing so. The executive producers hint that it could happen through a humorous setup where Frasier is tricked into doing the show again.
Our Take On Frasier's Talk Show Returning In The Reboot
Is It Necessary?

It's already known that, in season 2 episode 8 of the reboot, Frasier will return to Seattle for a KACL anniversary special and reconnect with a former caller whose life took a downward turn. With Frasier already returning to his radio show in season 2, reviving his daytime talk show might seem like overkill. Audiences have barely even seen his daytime talk show, so it's not like they have an emotional connection to it anyway. Returning to the past helps the Frasier reboot remain grounded in nostalgia, though it could also risk living too much in the past.
