From Season 3 Just Introduced The Show's Most Disturbing & Shocking Story In 2 Years

WARNING! This article contains SPOILERS for From season 3, episode 4!Fatima’s latest twist in From season 3, episode 4 makes her already-worrying pregnancy storyline far more concerning, and stands to be the show’s most shocking development yet. When Fatima found out that she was pregnant prior to From season 2’s ending, the reveal came with plenty of skepticism considering she was told in the outside world that she wasn’t able to have children. This led to speculation that Fatima’s baby might turn out to have a twisted supernatural origin related to the town’s evil forces, and From season 3’s revelations about her pregnancy certainly haven’t proven this theory wrong.

Most signs point to something being wrong with Fatima and her baby in From season 3. In season 3, episode 2, it was revealed that the only food Fatima could keep down was the rotten crops. In the following episode, a crow smashed into the window before another crashed through and died while Tillie was doing a tarot card reading about Fatima’s baby. These developments were already a cause for concern, but From season 3, episode 4’s ending takes the story to another disturbing level when Fatima begins sucking the blood from the gunshot wound on Nicky’s dead body.

Fatima's Baby Craving Blood From A Dead Body's Wound Is From's Most Disturbing Story Yet

Fatima's Pregnancy Horror Becomes Worse & Worse

Close

The mysterious monsters in From have been responsible for some of the show’s most gruesome moments, but Fatima consuming blood from a dead body might take the cake for extremely shocking twists. It seems as if the baby is being destroyed from the inside out in From season 3, as she can’t stop vomiting, has lost teeth, can only eat rotten crops, and craves the taste of blood from a corpse to sustain herself. Given how peaceful and happy Fatima has been throughout From, it’s an agonizing turn to see that her body is forcing her into these disturbing appetites.

Related From TV Show Cast & Character Guide Led by Harold Perrineau's Sheriff Boyd, From's cast of characters is what make the supernatural horror series work so well even several seasons in.

It was brutal to watch Tian-Chen's gory death in From season 3, episode 1, with the storylines of the music box monster, Boyd being trapped in a cave, and various bloody massacres also providing plenty of nightmare-inducing scares. However, Fatima uncontrollably digging her fingers into Nicky’s bloody wound and sucking off the blood takes From into new territory with its gory body horror. With Fatima still being very early into her pregnancy, there’s no telling what other stomach-turning cravings and horrifying symptoms await in upcoming From season 3 episodes.

What The Baby's Blood Craving Means For Fatima In From Season 3

Fatima's Blood Drinking All But Confirms The Baby's Supernatural Twist

Fatima’s baby having a taste for blood could indicate a vampiric turn for From season 3’s creatures. Ultimately, it indicates that the baby has been corrupted by the town’s evil forces, and therefore has disturbingly corrupted Fatima as its host body. It could mean that the baby itself isn’t entirely human, with some new supernatural being born when Fatima goes into labor. Sadly, it means Fatima’s own life is in danger, with more tragedies being likely to come both before and after the baby is born.

...From’s latest horror story integrating this trope to exacerbate the frightening, unpredictable nature of the town’s evils

From season 3’s concerning Fatima subplot contributes to a wider recent uptick in pregnancy horror stories this year. Before From season 3, terrifying pregnancy plots were at the center of 2024 horror movies and shows like Immaculate, The First Omen, Apartment 7A, Alien: Romulus, The Front Room, and American Horror Story: Delicate. The most famous entry in this subgenre remains the 1968 classic Rosemary’s Baby, with From’s latest horror story integrating this trope to exacerbate the frightening, unpredictable nature of the town’s evils.
