Yoly brought Mal on Netflix's The Ultimatum: Queer Love to bring them closer together, and in diving into the experience, the pair got a lot out of it individually, and their journey had a surprising outcome. Mal paired with Lexi during the trial marriage part of the show, and Yoly chose Xander as her trial marriage partner.

In a major surprise, Yoly and Xander ended up becoming extremely close, and formed a romantic connection that included sex. Mal and Lexi kept their relationship at a friendship level.

Come the day of the ultimatum, Xander broke up with Vanessa and wanted to make things work with Yoly. However, when Yoly and Mal had their ultimatum, Mal proposed to Yoly, and Yoly accepted. This meant Yoly told Xander she couldn't be with her, and the pair went their separate ways. By the time of the Queer Love Reunion, which was filmed in January 2023, Mal and Yoly revealed they had broken up shortly after getting engaged. Yoly and Xander revealed they met up during Coachella, but that nothing further happened between them.

She founded the Queer Run Club, which hosts 5k marathons centering around the queer community. She is also the founder of Lovers and Friends Chicago, which on LGBTQ+ party events in the Chicago area. Yoly has 161,000 followers on Instagram, and she promotes several products on different shopping platforms and also has a YouTube channel.

Mal seems to have separated herself from all of her The Ultimatum: Queer Love fellow cast members, short of following a few on Instagram. Mal has remained close friends with Lexi, and enjoys being part of the Netflix community and the other cast members from the show.
