Blue Lock Season 2 Episode #3 Release Date & Time
Blue Lock season two is in full swing now, with the release of episode #2, titled "The Assassin and the Ninja," this past Saturday, October 12. Covering manga chapters 109-151, the acclaimed Blue Lock vs. Japan U-20 arc, this season was extremely anticipated, and is filled with heart-racing action, the return of old favorite characters, and the introduction of brand-new personalities not yet seen in the anime thus far.
Episode two expanded upon the new plot point first mentioned in episode one: the tryouts for Blue Lock's team that will compete against Japan's U-20. Only a select few, 11 to be exact, of the remaining players will be permitted to play on the team Ego is building. Since the upcoming match will be so high-stakes and determine the Blue Lock project's final fate, Ego is taking no chances and only allowing the best of the best to continue on in the competition. Blue Lock's third episode is on the way, further expanding upon this exciting and life-changing contest.

What Happened in Blue Lock Season Two, Episode #2?
Team a and Team B’s First Match Has Begun, Officially Kicking off the Japan U-20 Match Tryouts
Teams have been determined for the final tryouts before the Japan U-20 game. In episode 2, the teams for the first match of the tryouts were announced. Isagi Yoichi was placed on Team A, led by Rin Itoshi and Shidou Ryusei, alongside two players who are new to the anime, Yo Hiori and Nijiro Nanase. Team B consists of Chigiri Hyoma, Isagi's former teammate, as well as Shiguma Kyohei and Saramadara Kairu, two other new players. Tabito Karasu and Eita Otoya are the leaders of Team B. Other than the top two players on each team, the other three were randomly selected.

With no time to lose, the match between the two teams started nearly instantaneously, after Isagi shared a brief conversation with his two new teammates. Thankfully, Isagi quickly discovers that Hiori and Nanase are two of the friendliest players in Blue Lock, and they communicate and work together well as a team. The players did not have much time to appreciate their newfound connection though, as their first match began quickly. Quickly, Isagi realized that Shidou and Rin are so talented they are dominating the game, making it difficult for him to assert himself and stand out as a player.

Overshadowed by Talented Players, Shidou and Rin, Isagi Struggles to “Assert” and “Coexist” on Team A
The match is cutthroat, with both sides fighting with all their might since, other than the top players, everyone knows it is their one chance to keep from being eliminated from Blue Lock. Shidou scored the first goal with an unexpected backwards kick, revealing just why he was chosen as a top player. Not to be defeated, new player to the anime, Team B's Karasu, scored the second goal of the game before anyone registered how quickly he was moving. Eita Otoya proves himself rapidly too, creeping up behind the previously unbeatable Rin and steals another goal for Team B.
Karasu and Otoya are a dynamic duo, and they work perfectly together, leaving Isagi feeling discouraged and like he is fading into the background of the game. Rin and Chigiri also score incredible goals using their own unique soccer gifts, further wearing down Isagi's confidence in himself. Miraculously, Shidou and Rin do not have the same phenomenal chemistry and communication as Karasu and Otoya, bickering with each other, and ruining their chances of obtaining another goal for Team A. As Isagi watches their argument, he realizes he could potentially be the piece that connects their opposing playing styles.

As the U-20 match tryouts progess, each Blue Lock player is becoming acutely aware that they must differentiate themselves from every other player on the field, and fast, or risk ending their soccer career forever. No one understands this better than protagonist, Isagi Yoichi, who continues to vy for his spot on the team with fierce determination. The upcoming third episode of Blue Lock will continue this first game between Team A and Team B, hopefully offering Isagi a chance to "assert" and "coexist" within the team, like Ego mentioned.
