Dragon Ball Daima Episode #2 Release Date & Time

Dragon Ball Daima Episode #2 Release Date & Time

Dragon Ball DAIMA debuted to amazing reception last week, officially kicking off a new chapter in the Dragon Ball franchise. While the story of the first episode focused more on the villain and less on Goku, it managed to introduce a whole new world to Dragon Ball's increasingly complex cosmology.

DAIMA revealed a lot of critical details in this episode, such as its timeline placement (Trunks' 9th birthday, not long after defeating Buu), how exactly Goku and friends became small, and the existence of the Demon Realm, previously only mentioned, with its own set of dragon balls. The episode served to justify the series' premise, as the new King of the Demon Realm, Gomah, became worried that Goku and friends would set their sights on destroying the Demon Realm after finishing with Majin Buu, and used Earth's dragon balls to turn them into kids.

What Happened in Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode #1?

Meeting the New King of the Demon Realm

Dragon Ball DAIMA started out with a bit of recap for anyone who's been out of the Dragon Ball game for a while now. Much of the recap was actually performed in-universe, as the new villain, Gomah, began reviewing footage of the confrontation between Majin Buu and the Z Fighters. Gomah and the Supreme Kai's brother, Degesu, watched with horror as Majin Buu first rampaged, and then was destroyed by Goku and friends, realizing that anyone powerful enough to take out Majin Buu and Dabura was easily strong enough to defeat them, should they arrive in the Demon Realm.

While reviewing the footage, Gomah discovered about Earth's dragon balls, and decided to make a wish that would take those who fought against Majin Buu out of the picture by turning them into kids again. Through the use of a Demon Realm Namekian, Gomah was able to reactivate the dragon balls on Earth and successfully wished the heroes younger. With no clue as to what has happened or how to undo it, the Z Fighters are at a big disadvantage at the moment, as they don't even know who the nemesis that has done this to them is.

What to Expect in Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode #2

DAIMA Introduces A New Original Character

Episode #2 of Dragon Ball DAIMA is entitled "Glorio." It's known from prerelease materials that Glorio is a gun-wielding Majin from the Demon Realm; he was seen very briefly in episode #1, spying on Gomah and Degesu as they plotted how to get rid of Goku and his friends. It seems now that Gomah has taken action against them, Glorio may be seeking out the Z Fighters in order to strike some sort of alliance with them, or at least help explain the situation they now find themselves in.

It's known from the DAIMA trailer that Glorio will likely be accompanying Goku and Supreme Kai on their mission to the Demon Realm, probably to act as their local guide. Glorio also has an association with another character, the Masked Majin, although it is not yet clear if this character will be appearing alongside him in the next episode or not. Glorio's reasons for associating with Goku and friends also remain to be seen; he could be against Gomah taking the Demon Realm's throne, for example.

It's now known that Dragon Ball DAIMA's next episode previews will be providing relatively little information on the upcoming episode aside from its title, so it seems like everyone will be experiencing the story of DAIMA for the first time together, with minimal opportunity for spoilers. While it's certainly a matter of perspective, it could be a good thing, as no one knows quite what to expect from this series as it is. Dragon Ball DAIMA is an adventure in which all Dragon Ball fans are on equal footing, as its anime-original status means no manga to count on.
