Get Ready To Play Disney Dreamlight Valley Again
Disney Dreamlight Valley has excited its player community with the brand-new Jungle Update, which was released on October 9. The update features a brand-new rock music-inspired Star Path, a variety of highly requested and anticipated gameplay improvements, an exciting, unique collaboration with Loungefly, an upcoming Halloween in-game event, and the addition of two brand-new, beloved Disney characters to the Valley.
In addition to the brand-new features and improvements that have come with the update, many bugs have been fixed, which have significantly impacted the game's performance. All told, DDV's Jungle Update is a major step for the game, and provides plenty of reasons for players to return to the Valley for more adventures.
New Characters, Story, & Quests

Players of Disney Dreamlight Valley can now welcome two brand-new characters to the Valley with the Jungle Update: the legendary Timon and Pumbaa from The Lion King. Players can now revisit The Lion King Realm in a new daylight cycle where they have the ability to explore both a brand-new story and friendship quests due to the introduction of Timon and Pumbaa. The iconic duo also come with their own unique interactive traits, where players can assist Timon with calming his nerves, or by encouraging Pumbaa with this pottery hobby.
The brand new Star Path that's arrived with the Jungle Update is called "The Night Show" Star Path. The Star Path is inspired by rock music, Disney Villains, and Disney Princesses. Players can turn their Valley into an exciting rock music festival and earn an aesthetic array of rock concert items from stage gear, dazzling neon light displays, thrilling pyrotechnic items and even a brand-new companion called a Rockstar Turtle. The clothing items that come with this Star Path are all rock-inspired with various elements of punk and gothic esthetics, much to the appeal of players who enjoy the more alternative side of fashion.
To celebrate the Halloween season, Disney Dreamlight Valley has collaborated with Loungefly for the new Jungle Update. In-game Loungefly Collaboration backpacks are now available that have been uniquely designed for the game. Players can choose from six different styles: Pooh Cosplay Harness Animal Companion Accessory, Hunny Tummy Backpack, Fantasia Backpack, Mickey BOO! Backpack, and Maleficent Dragon Loungefly Backpack. Players can also participate in a competition to win one of the bags in real life by submitting a screenshot or fan art of their character to Gleam, or by using the hashtag #DDLVHauntedHoliday on X (formerly Twitter), Facebook or Instagram.
Halloween can also be celebrated in Disney Dreamlight Valley with the upcoming Trick-Or-Treat in-game event. The event will take place between October 23–31 and its tasks will consist of collecting various Candy Bowls that pop up all over the Plaza. Players must collect the different colored candy from the bowls to make up a collection of green, purple and red sweets, which can then be gifted or consumed in exchange for seasonal rewards. The Trick-Or-Treat event also introduces a new craftable furniture item, Mickey's Halloween Candy Bowl. Players can also look forward to a free Evil Queen Halloween costume being added to the Premium Shop at some point in the coming weeks.
When it comes to shopping within the Valley, the Jungle Update comes with an anticipated update to Scrooge McDuck's Store, which now offers an updated batch of new goods, including additional Realm decor. The Premium shop now offers weekly rotations, which players are able to look forward to as both returning and new items will appear in-store. Moonstone packs have also been adjusted to introduce both Moonstones and a seasonal Valley cosmetic item for a limited time period. This system may continue to be offered with future updates.
Quality-Of-Life Improvements Will Have You Playing DDV Again
A Better Experience Across The Board
One of the most raved about improvements to come to Disney Dreamlight Valley thanks to the Jungle Update is the introduction of the Glider feature. The Glider feature allows for wings to be equipped in the game, which can now allow a character to fly slightly above the ground while sprinting. The developers have also implemented an animation for the wings which allows them to flutter in a manner that is more realistic for wings. This feature has greatly excited many players and the mechanics of the Glider effect allow for a more enhanced form of navigation in the game.
In addition to Scrooge McDuck's store being updated with a new bunch of items, there is now a new system that has come with the update where, as a clothing mannequin in the store is emptied, they are replaced with new furniture items. This feature is particularly satisfying for many players who didn't enjoy the view of the empty window displays in the store for aesthetic purposes. The Premium Shop also now has a new rotating system that updates with items tailored to the interests of the player, allowing its contents to differ from person to person.
The Jungle Update has come with some brand-new gameplay updates which make day-to-day life in-game much easier. A new widget feature has been implemented with the update that allows players to easily organize and keep track of their Valley tasks by adding their Dreamlight duties and crafting recipes to a new on-screen Quest tracker, allowing for easier task navigation. Players are also delighted with a new update that allows the ability to hold hand accessories and tools while in Photo Mode for DreamSnaps challenges. Furthermore, for DreamSnaps, a new skip button has been added to the DreamSnaps voting screen, where players can skip up to 10 votes per day.
Some new controls have been implemented in DDV, including a toggle option in the Controls menu where players can select between two different control methods while in Edit Mode outdoors – an option that is the original control style or the other, which locks the cursor to the center of the screen while with the ability to move it freely. Another toggle option introduced allows players to select between two different sprinting control methods, which allows selecting between updated button mapping of the button mapping integrated with the previous update. There is also now full support for wireless controllers on Steam.
A long list of bugs has been fixed, much to many players' delight. These fixes include important quest fixes for the "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Oops" quest where Olaf's parasol would not appear on the beach, as well as a bug that prevented players from accessing the game in "The Secrets Of Eternity Isle" quest. Some gameplay mechanics have been fixed, including the issue where players could run into invisible walls, resolving Disney Dreamlight Valley meals being incorrectly marked in some of Remy's quests, and UI issues such as lighting issues in the likes of Tiana's Palace.
Disney Dreamlight Valley Still Needs Fixes
DDV Still Isn't As Great As It Could Be
While the features that have come with the Jungle Update are exciting, Disney Dreamlight Valley still needs some changes to allow for a better gameplay experience. One of the biggest concerns that players have is the game's focus on Moonstones and how difficult they are to get in-game without a subscription, especially considering how the new update has features strongly based around the Premium Shop. Many players would like more ways of earning Moonstones in-game, as paying more money after already purchasing the game in the first place is not ideal.
It is possible to earn Moonstones in-game by finding the Daily Moonstone Chest, trading in extra event tokens, or participating in DreamSnaps.
Another concern that players are expressing about the updated Premium Shop is its new rotation system. Many players are worried that, because the new system now only displays items based on a player's personal interests within the Premium Shop, that they might miss other items they would like to have the option of purchasing. Meanwhile, in Scrooge McDuck's Store, players are expressing the desire for the empty clothing mannequins to be replaced by not just furniture, but new clothes as well. Additionally, players would like more hairstyles to show up in the store as these are rare enough to come by.
Unfortunately for players who are avid fans of Halloween, there has been a consensus of disappointment over the theme of the brand-new Star Path. At any other time of year, "The Night Show" Star Path would likely be a very welcome update in Disney Dreamlight Valley. However, many players of the game are voicing that they would have preferred to see more Halloween and Autumnal themes, rewards and in-game items to have been introduced with the Jungle Update. Although "The Night Show" Star Path offers items that are inspired by alternative fashion, some more Halloween-specific reward items seem to be what players would have preferred.
The Jungle Update for Disney Dreamlight Valley is ultimately full of very positive changes that have significantly enhanced the game's player experience. Players are enthralled by the new Glider effect which allows flight while sprinting, many are delighted by the introduction of Timon and Pumbaa to the Valley, and the detailed cosmetic updates for the new Star Path as well as the Loungefly collaboration have added a new element of fun to the game this October. The bug fixes that have been implemented with the update have significantly improved running the game and players are finally able to have a smoother quest completion experience as a result.
Despite all the positive changes that have come with the Jungle Update, it's clear that there are many anticipated changes that the Disney Dreamlight Valley player community are still waiting for. The issue of the game's reliance on players consuming Moonstones for purchases in-game is at the forefront of the current issues that are being discussed, and it's something players hope the developers take into consideration. Nonetheless, the Jungle Update for the moment has provided a generous amount of entertaining content and its gameplay fixes are certainly an improvement on the previous Disney Dreamlight Valley experience.
