Andrew Garfield Returns As The Star Of Ultimate Spider-Man Reboot In Exciting Marvel Art

As the world is hoping to see Andrew Garfield back as his iteration of Spider-Man, some fans have the perfect concept in mind for how his Marvel hero can get a new start. After appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline through Spider-Man: No Way Home, Garfield has continued to get asked when he will be back as the web-slinger. While no concrete plans have been formally announced by Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures, this has not stopped people from sharing their pitches for more Garfield-starring Spider-Man stories.

Gifted digital creator, Spdrmnkyxxiii, recently shared new artwork of Garfield back in the Spider-Man suit, but with a catch. Rather than continuing under The Amazing Spider-Man banner, the artist imagined Garfield as the Ultimate Spider-Man. Check it out below:

While the original Ultimate Spider-Man series is mostly known as the 2000 run from Brian Michael Bendis, Marvel Comics re-launched the title for the Ultimate universe. In this reality, Peter became Spider-Man much later in life while also being happily married with kids, with many having shared that the design of the web-slinger looks a lot like Garfield.

Garfield's Spider-Man has only continued to rise in popularity, with fans wanting to see more of him back in the Marvel world, whether that is in Tom Holland's Spider-Man 4 or through The Amazing Spider-Man 3. At this point, it is heavily speculated that Garfield will be back for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, along with Tobey Maguire's version of Spider-Man, as the franchise gets into the end of The Multiverse Saga. Ironically, if Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures really wanted to, the idea of an Ultimate universe with Garfield could actually come to fruition.

Avengers: Secret Wars is rumored to set up the idea of the MCU timeline getting a soft reboot, which would theoretically involve various timelines and universes getting merged into one proper reality. However, as seen in the world of Marvel Comics, the multiverse is still out there, which is how the revamped Ultimate world still exists. Not only could Garfield's The Amazing Spider-Man movie universe get rebooted into the Ultimate continuity, but this could give him a similar trajectory as the current comic run, where he is now a father and husband while juggling responsibilities as a superhero.

Seeing Garfield as the Ultimate Spider-Man really sets up the idea of how incredible it would be to see him get to explore his version of Peter in this light, especially as the British star has grown as an actor. Whether or not the Ultimate concept is something that Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios would be willing to tackle together is the bigger question though, as their collaboration is currently focused on Spider-Man 4. But hopefully, in one way or another, the world has not seen the last of Garfield's version of Spider-Man on the big screen.
