He was introduced in season 1 as a maester who helped Grand Maester Mellos (David Horovitch) take care of King Viserys Targaryen (Paddy Considine), whose health gradually declined throughout the season. During season 1's time jumps, Orwyle ascended to the position of Grand Maester, which included being a member of the royal Small Council.
