Weasley Twin Actors Reveal Their Favorite Harry Potter Movie In The Franchise

Harry Potter actors James and Oliver Phelps, who played Fred and George Weasley, respectively, each share their favorite entries in the franchise. The release of The Sorcerer's Stone in 2001 spawned seven sequels, with The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 concluding the journey of Daniel Radcliffe's journey in 2011. The Harry Potter movies, based on the books by J.K. Rowling, were wildly successful and widely beloved, and the Phelps twins appeared in all eight installments.

During a recent "Never Have I Ever" interview segment with Delish, the Phelps twins reflect on their time in the Harry Potter franchise. After a prompt that reads "never have I ever disliked one of the Harry Potter films," James takes the time to earnestly explain that neither of them thinks there's a weak link in the eight films:

I’m not just saying this, I’m very, very lucky to say that we’ve been a part of something which we genuinely enjoy all eight films that we’ve been involved with. They’re definitely ones that stand the test of time.

One of the interviews then asks the brothers what their favorites movies are in the franchise, and both James and Oliver share differing answers:

Oliver Phelps : There’s a few different ones, but I really like Deathly Hallows Part 1. James Phelps: Me to watch, would probably be Prisoner of Azkaban, the third movie. That film was just such a fun thing to be a part of and visually-wise it looks awesome.

What Others Cast Members Have Said About Their Favorites

All eight Harry Potter movies were massively successful on a commercial level, but they all generally earned positive reviews as well. Looking at the chart of Rotten Tomatoes scores below, it's clear that, though there is some variation, there isn't an entry that stands out as being poorly received. Considering there were eight movies in Harry's saga, it's impressive that none fell too far short of the mark.

Not all other Harry Potter cast members haven't revealed their favorites in the franchise, as Ron actor Rupert Grint has revealed that he still hasn't seen all eight. Radcliffe, on the other hand, has revealed that The Order of the Phoenix was his favorite to film and The Deathly Hallows – Part 2 is his favorite to watch. Emma Watson hasn't revealed her favorite film of the bunch, but she did reveal on the Harry Potter reunion special that one of her favorite scenes in the franchise is Hermione and Harry's dance in The Deathly Hallows – Part 1.

Our Take On Phelps' Harry Potter Top Picks

All Eight Movies Are Valid Choices

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was critically-acclaimed and is now widely considered a franchise highlight, but Oliver's pick of The Deathly Hallows – Part 1 is no less valid. Each movie in the franchise has a slightly different tone, with some being lighter and others darker, and there really is no right or wrong answer about which one is the best. While which Harry Potter movie stands above the rest is, of course, a matter of personal preference, it's clear that both James and Oliver Phelps are both grateful for their time in the franchise.
