ARK: Ultimate Mobile Edition launches worldwide on mobile devices today as a free app. ARK takes survival to prehistoric times, combining the elements of a survival RPG with dinosaur hunting and taming mechanics, base building, and exploration. And now, fans will be able to experience the vast world of ARK and its expansions for free, on mobile.

The Ultimate Mobile Edition is coming to mobile thanks to Grove Street Games and Snail Games, working alongside Studio Wildcard, the developers of the original ARK: Survival Evolved. The mobile version adapts every element of ARK to mobile devices along with every expansion for Survival Evolved, including Scorched Earth, Aberration, Extinction, Genesis Parts 1 & 2, and even the community-created unofficial Ragnarok map.

Scorched Earth And Aberration Are Available At Launch

The launch of the new mobile game was celebrated with a trailer posted to the ARK: Ultimate Mobile Edition YouTube channel. The video shows that the title has stayed true to its survival roots and looks right at home on mobile devices. The trailer also reveals that the original island map, the Scorched Earth expansion, and the Aberration expansion are available on the mobile app at launch, with the rest of the packs coming by the end of 2025.

ARK: Ultimate Mobile Edition, like the original title, has a massive world to explore with over 150 dinosaurs and creatures to tame, crafting, building, multiplayer and more. Players are dumped onto the shores of an island where they will need to build shelter, gather food and resources, and, most importantly, survive against the many dinosaurs and other creatures in the land. The experience will be available for players to experience either in single-player or online with fellow explorers.

ARK: Ultimate Mobile Edition is a chance for new and existing fans to experience the fun and often brutal elements of ARK: Survival Evolved and its numerous expansions. I was a little disappointed to find out that the game is not compatible with my Android phone, but presumably, the title needs the most recent hardware to run smoothly.

For those who are able to access it, being able to try out ARK for free is an appealing benefit, and it would be nice to eventually have access to a similar experience on PC and console. Although it might not have the graphical advancements that ARK: Survival Ascended presents, ARK: Ultimate Mobile Edition is a nice addition to the lineup.
