Adam Driver's Bizarre Zombie Movie From 2019 Is Now On Netflix, And You'll Never Believe Who Make Up The Supporting Cast

Adam Driver has been in a variety of movies and TV shows, and one of his most bizarre ones is now streaming on Netflix – and it’s even more intriguing thanks to its unbelievable supporting cast. Adam Driver has become one of the most acclaimed actors of his generation, and he has shown his range across different genres on both film and TV. Driver’s acting career began on TV before his big screen debut in 2011’s J. Edgar, where he played Walter Lyle. Driver’s big break was when he was cast as Adam Sackler in the comedy-drama TV series Girls.

Driver gained worldwide recognition when he joined Disney’s Star Wars sequels as Kylo Ren, but in between Star Wars movies, he continued to expand to other genres. After movies like Silence, Logan Lucky, and BlacKkKlansman, Driver joined the cast of the absurdist zombie comedy The Dead Don’t Die. This is unlike most zombie movies and as such it wasn’t well-received by critics and general audiences, but what’s most interesting about it is the impressive cast that accompanies Driver in the zombie apocalypse.

The Dead Don't Die Is Now Streaming On Netflix - What The Zombie Movie Is About

The Dead Don’t Die Was Directed By Jim Jarmusch

The Dead Don't Die has a new home on Netflix, and if you expect a typical survival zombie apocalypse movie, that’s not exactly what you will find in this movie. Written and directed by Jim Jarmusch, The Dead Don't Die takes the audience to the small rural town of Centerville, and follows police officers Cliff Robertson (Bill Murray) and Ronnie Peterson (Driver). After polar fracking alters the Earth’s rotation, the dead begin to rise as zombies, leaving Cliff, Ronnie, and the rest of the town’s residents to defend themselves as best as they can.

The Dead Don't Die had its premiere at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival and was theatrically released in June 2014. The Dead Don't Die got a mixed reception from critics, granting it a 54% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes and with that a “rotten” label, along with a 38% audience score, also “rotten.” Critics praised the performances of its cast, particularly Tilda Swinton, Murray, and Driver, and found the story to be “smart” and different from other zombie comedies.

Those who weren’t on board with Jarmusch’s take on the horror-comedy genre found The Dead Don't Die to be slow, annoying, not living up to its potential (given its director and cast), and a very specific twist to not benefit the movie at all. The Dead Don't Die won’t be for everyone, but it’s worth giving it a chance.
