Secret Level Season 2: Confirmation & Everything We Know
Amazon Prime Video's animated series Secret Level brought some of the most popular video games to life during season 1, and now it has been renewed for season 2. Created for the small screen by Tim Miller (Love, Death & Robots), Secret Level uses an anthology format to explore stories set within the worlds of hit video game franchises. Utilizing a varied animation style, and a cast of Hollywood A-listers, the series uses short-format storytelling to adapt games that may otherwise never get their chance as big-budget movies or ongoing TV series.
From arcade classics like Pac-Man to brand-new games like Concord, it's the variety with which Secret Level adapts its stories that makes it so compelling. On top of that, the individual episodes range in tone from clever twists on their sources (like "PAC-MAN: Circle") to more straight-forward tales set in the established universes of the games (like "Warhammer 40,000: And They Shall Know No Fear"). This opens the door for a seemingly endless number of game adaptation possibilities, and Prime Video is eager to let Tim Miller bring his magic in Secret Level. As such, the show was swiftly renewed.

Prime Video Orders A Second Season
Prime Video has positioned itself as the streaming home of video game TV, and Secret Level is further proof
Coming the same day that the last chunk of episodes was released, it has now been confirmed that Secret Level season 2 has been renewed. Already finding great success earlier in 2024 with the release of their Fallout adaptation, Prime Video has positioned itself as the streaming home of video game TV, and Secret Level is further proof. The swift renewal isn't all that surprising when considering that it took the crown as the most-watched animated series debut in the platform's history, amassing around 1.4 million views in just a single week.
The official Secret Level account on X (formerly Twitter) announced the triumphant achievement in a post that also revealed the season 2 renewal:
Secret Level Season 2 Is Confirmed
The Series Levels Up Soon
Prime Video wasted no time when it came to deciding the fate of Secret Level season 2, and that was because of the overwhelmingly positive response that season 1 received. Though it only garnered a middling 67% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, the aggregator's "Popcornmeter" (fan score) sits at 82%. Critical reception aside, it was the viewership numbers that ultimately inspired Prime Video to renew the series, and the decision came down the same day that episodes 9 through 15 premiered.
Secret Level debuted on December 10, 2024, with episodes 1-8, and was followed by episodes 9-15 on December 17.
When the show debuted earlier in December 2024, Secret Level quickly became the most-watched animated premiere in Prime Video history, and garnered around 1.4 million total views in just a single week. Those kinds of numbers in the streaming world are nearly unheard of, and Prime Video had no choice but to meet fan demand by renewing season 2 immediately. Though many details remain elusive at this point, it's expected that season 2 of Secret Level could be just as big as the first, if not bigger.

Who Will Voice The Video Game Characters?
Close
Fresh off a season 2 renewal, the cast of Secret Level isn't set yet. However, if season 2 follows the trend set by season 1, there will certainly be a star-studded voice cast. A-listers like Keanu Reeves, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Kevin Hart all lent their voices to characters in season 1, and there's no telling who could do the same in season 2. While it's unlikely that the same cast will be used again, it's also possible that the anthology series could employ a revolving cast (much like American Horror Story) that could see the roster reassigned to new roles.

Which Video Games Will Secret Level Season 2 Adapt?
Endless Possibilities For Season 2's Stories
The best aspect of Secret Level is that each episode adapts a different video game franchise, which opens the door for nearly endless storytelling possibilities. Season 1 offered episodes based on games as disparate as Mega Man and Concord, and season 2 could take things even further by delving deeper into the annals of gaming history. As the Pac-Man episode illustrated, the adaptations don't necessarily have to be very straightforward, and that means something as simple as Pong could get the Secret Level treatment.
The games featured in season 1 include:
Franchise Episode Title Note Dungeons & Dragons "The Queen's Cradle" Though DnD does have many video games, it is primarily a tabletop game. Sifu "It Takes a Life" New World "The Once and Future King" Unreal Tournament "Xan" Warhammer 40k "And They Shall Know No Fear" Warhammer is a tabletop game that branched into video games. Pac-Man "Circle" Used to promote the upcoming game Shadow Labryinth Crossfire "Good Conflict" Armored Core "Asset Management" The Outer Worlds "The Company We Keep" Mega Man "Start" Exodus "Odyssey" Spelunky "Tally" Concord "Tale of the Implacable" PlayStation canceled development on Concord only two months after its release. Honor of Kings "The Way of All Things" PlayStation "Fulfillment" Based on the gaming console and includes notable PlayStation titles like God of War.
However, executive producers Tim Miller and Dave Wilson revealed which game they want to adapt in Secret Level season 2, and it's a modern gaming staple. Calling it the "Moby Dick of video games," the duo of Miller and Wilson put the multi-player FPS game Fortnite at the top of their list of adaptation hopefuls. While it remains to be seen if Fortnite will get adapted, it's safe to say that Secret Level season 2 is going to go big with its gaming choices.
