Stranger Things Season 5 Filming Update Teases Production Is Close To The Finish Line
A new filming update for Stranger Things season 5 suggests it is close to finishing production. Stranger Things has been one of Netflix's most successful shows since the first season was released in 2016. While also featuring seasoned stars such as Winona Ryder and David Harbour, the show is known for introducing the world to some key emerging talent, including Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Noah Schnapp. Now, Strangers Things season 5 is in production, which will be the last season of the series.
Now, a new post from Amybeth McNulty seems to suggest that Stranger Things season 5 may be close to the finish line.
The actor posted a series of shots that showed her getting into character for Stranger Things over the years. The accompanying text opened with "Wrapped!!" as McNulty thanked the Stranger Things team for "allowing [her] to join this spectacular project with the most astounding team." The photos in the post included in-character shots and behind-the-scenes pictures.

Stranger Things Announce Production Wrap Soon
Close
While McNulty's post does indicate that Stranger Things has made significant progress, it should not necessarily be taken as an indicator that the production has completely wrapped up on the hit TV series. In TV and movies, but especially TV, there can be a "wrap" on an individual actor before the entire production concludes. If McNulty's Vickie does not appear in every episode of season 5, they could have wrapped up her part before, for example, that of Eleven or other leads. Still, the post is a good sign that Stranger Things season 5 has at least made significant progress.

As of now, the final episodes of the series are set for release in 2025, but do not yet have a more specific release window than that. If Stranger Things is going to wrap up production in the coming days, it is possible that the show will come sooner rather than later on in 2025. The special effects-heavy show likely still has significant work to do in post-production, but considering how successful it has been on Netflix thus far, the producers will be apt to push it along.
The Gap Between Seasons Has Already Been Lengthy
It will be wise for Netflix if Stranger Things arrives as early in 2025 as possible, as fans have already complained (and rightly so) about the long wait time between seasons. At this point, the formerly preteen cast has practically outgrown their roles, making it necessary for the show to end as soon as possible. Unless the new season releases before the end of May, there will have been more than a three-year gap between seasons 4 and 5 of the series. Hopefully, the final episodes will have been worth the wait once Stranger Things season 5 eventually comes out.
