Warframe 1999: How To Romance Eleanor & Hex Members
Of all the new additions to Warframe in the 1999 update, understanding the romance feature and how it works is crucial. Warframe has been a long-running game, and though it started slowly, it has grown over the last decade to be one of the most popular MMOs. Many of these changes, along with all the promises of 1999, have made 2024 a great time to get back into Warframe.
Warframe 1999's new content takes the player back to when the first Protoframes were around. Once there, the Tenno learns about how the mysterious "Man in the Wall" has also traveled back to manipulate time to his own ending. This plot point seems like the beginning of how Warframe begins to counteract this being who has been behind the majority of the game's major events. As with most Warframe updates, 1999 is not some major content expansion. However, it has more than enough to entertain players and move the story along.
How To Unlock Romance In Warframe 1999
Back To The Past
To unlock Warframe 1999's romance, you must first progress through "The Hex" quest. This is a relatively straightforward quest that will put you in control of one of the six Hex members for the majority of missions. So, even though the rest of the main story quests need to be done first, there are no specific endgame requirements for this particular quest. The mission objectives are all similar to missions already in Warframe, with some slight adjustments to fit the setting of 1999.
It is best to quickly check every member's abilities when playing them for the smoothest experience.
This quest will end by showing how the Tenno was unable to stop the Man in the Wall and each of the Hex members dies. However, a time loop was somehow created, giving you, the player, another chance to redo the situation, and hopefully save the lives of you new friends. This then begins the process of getting each Hex member to like the Tenno, with the option to progress into romance if desired. By being liked by each Hex member and reaching level four with the faction, the Tenno can break the loop with the good ending.
How To Romance Eleanor & Other Hex Members
Love Takes Patience And Dedication
Close
Once "The Hex" quest is completed, it will unlock a faction tab on the old PC console in your Orbitor. This tab is where you can chat with each Hex member once a day. These chats are important to leveling up chemistry to one of the six levels. To complete the story alone, each member only has to reach the third stage, but for romance, the last stage must be reached.
Relationship Level Stage 1 Neutral 2 Friendly 3 Liked 4 Trusted 5 Close 6 Best Friends/Loved
You must select the right answer to boost chemistry in these chats and learn more about the Hex members. This part is crucial to giving a daily boost and learning each member's preferences. The second part of this feature is choosing a gift which could greatly boost chemistry. The best gift option will be hinted at through a previous conversation with the Hex member or shown in their profile about things they like.

The last way to increase chemistry is by completing 1999's exclusive bounties. These are incredibly helpful as they provide a way to grind for the new Warframe, resources, and a once-per-day chemistry boost. These bounties are the standard Warframe missions, except you will have new faction enemies to face, and one Hex member accompanying you as an NPC backup.
Overall, like most things in Warframe, romancing the Hex members is not a difficult task, but a grindy one. However, given it is the first time something like this has been implemented into Warframe, it is understandable that it may not be perfect and take some time. In a way, the slower pace is a good thing as it gives everyone a chance to really learn about these colorful creations that Digital Extremes have made for Warframe's first shot at romance in 1999.
