One Sonic The Hedgehog 3 Subplot Was Way More Emotional Than Expected

A subplot between Ivo Robotnik and Agent Stone in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is surprisingly emotional. The story of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 follows Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles as they get recruited by the Guardian Unit of Nations (GUN) to fight Shadow the Hedgehog after he escapes from Prison Island in Tokyo Bay, Japan. However, Shadow proves to be far too formidable of an opponent for Team Sonic, which leads them back to Ivo Robotnik, the villain from the first two Sonic movies.

Agent Stone watches from the ground in London as the climax of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 takes place on a space station. Throughout Sonic 3's final battle, the film cuts to Agent Stone numerous times to show how worried he is about Ivo Robotnik. Once the space station blows up, seemingly killing Ivo Robotnik, Agent Stone says goodbye to his boss. This is perhaps the most emotional moment of the movie, which is surprising since Agent Stone is a relatively minor character.
