Pokémon TCG Pocket Giving Away Free Mythical Island Packs for the Holidays

Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket is giving away some free packs and hourglasses for the holiday season. The new trading card game has had a successful launch, with players captivated by collecting cards and battling friends (and online strangers). The game has also hosted a series of missions and events, offering players free Wonder Picks and promo cards in exchange for completing missions. Most of these missions are easy to complete, with players usually needing only to participate in some of the game's core features.

This week, Pokémon TCG Pocket is hosting one of its best events yet, just in time for the holidays. From now until January 1st, players can collect up to four Mythical Island packs and 36 Pack Hourglasses just for logging in. Players can collect the free bonuses daily, with the missions appearing in a special "Holiday" section of the mission screen. The holiday giveaway also comes with a special holiday frame for displaying cards.

The event started on Christmas Day, with players able to complete one login mission per day. By completing a minimum of four missions, players will also get 24 Wonder Hourglasses. These are particularly useful since a new Wonder Pick event is running now featuring Electric-type Pokémon, including Zapdos ex. Once players complete the mission, players can collect their prize packs from the game's gift section. The missions are only available for a week, so players will need to log in daily to collect all the rewards.

The new winter frame shows a Christmas tree and other holiday decorations, with a wintery landscape featuring a Psyduck snowman outside. Ornaments featuring Pikachu, Dragonite, and Delibird sit above the frame display, providing the perfect holiday feel for a special Pokémon card. Like other frames, players can choose which card they want to display in the Display Board section of their card collection.

More Giveaways Mean More Chances For Rare Cards For Free

We're a big fan of this event, largely because it's the first time players have gotten free packs in Pokémon TCG Pocket. Not only does the holiday event help promote the meta-changing Mythical Island expansion, but it also provides a solid incentive to keep logging into the game daily.
