Is Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation Worth Watching? (& Where To Stream The Movie Online)

Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation is the 2015 installment of Tom Cruise's legendary spy franchise, and it stacks up well against the rest of the impressive titles in the action movie series. Premiering in July 2015 as the fifth installment in the Mission: Impossible franchise, Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation serves as the direct sequel to Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol and brings back all the beloved characters from that film, while introducing a few noteworthy additions for good measure, including Rebecca Ferguson, Sean Harris, and Alec Baldwin.

The fifth movie finds Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) uncovering the existence of a previously unknown terrorist organization, the Syndicate, who seem to have a reach far greater than anything Hunt and the IMF team have come up against before. When the CIA is ordered to absorb the IMF, Hunt goes off the grid to find out more about the Syndicate, in hopes to get enough information to justify the existence of the IMF. With incredible Mission: Impossible stunts and excellent story telling, Rogue Nation has everything fans are looking for.

Whether someone is familiar with the Mission: Impossible movies or not, Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation is absolutely worth watching. The only issue with the film is typing it's frustratingly punctuated title into a search bar. With a Rotten Tomatoes score of 94% and $683 million at the box office (via BoxOfficeMojo), critics and fans have given the fifth M:I movie their full throated support. Rogue Nation continues a bizarre trajectory rarely seen in franchise filmmaking: the steady improvement of movies across a series.

Mission: Impossible movies just seem to get better and better, and Rogue Nation proved Ghost Protocol was not just a fluke. It is wildly entertaining from start to finish, with even the moments not taking place on the outside of an airplane, thrilling and memorable. Globe-trotting, smart, funny, and filled with fantastic twists, Rogue Nation is a consummate action film. The addition of Rebecca Ferguson to the cast gives the film a huge jolt of feminine energy that previous films in the series lacked, and her presence continues to be a majorly important part of the franchise.
